Its a trendy, noisy, swank restaurant in the marina. The pomegranate margarita was delicious (would recommend ordering a pitcher and ask your server to go light on the ice). The salsa and chips were a great starter since the salsa tasted very fresh with the organic ingredients used. We tried two of the sides (mexican corn and rice) both of which were great. The scallops over corn were grilled to perfection and incredibly flavorful. We also ordered the chicken enchillatas which were great. Total bill including 2 pitchers for 5 of us was $150 (not including gratuity). Would definately go there again!

One of the best Thai restaurants that I've been to. We ordered the chix satay and basil eggplant and they were delicious. The chx was tender, flavorful and moist and the eggplant dish was well displayed. We had the pumpkin, scallops and shrimp over noodles, red curry and the rainbow trout and they were all good. The black sticky rice with mango was an excellent way to end the meal. Rates were not bad- for a round of drinks, 2 aps, three entress and one dessert- the damage was $95 including tip (party of 4=~$25pp).

We were there for dinner on Sat and got seated right away. The Kashmiri chicken kebobs were probably the best kebabs I have eaten in a while- very well marinated and cooked to perfection. Most of the other grilled food was standard, the biryani wasn't much different from other Indian restaurants but I'd surely go back for their kebobs.

Food was fantastic! we had the salmon curry which was very well spiced, the basil and garlic naan which was delicious, and the okra which was cooked to perfection. The appetizer plate of pakoras and samosas (priced at $6 and serves two) was really good too!
I've heard their lamb chops are delicious as well but our bellies were too full to order any more food!

Ambience was intimate, authentic and cozy however the food was atrocious. We ordered the appetizer that was written up as having 7 fresh ingredients to be wrapped in butter lettuce- the ingredients consisted of ginger, peanuts, dried coconut to name a few and left much to be desired. The pah ki mao was flavorless and so was number 40 (roasted egg plant with minced chicken). We had to sprinkle loads of salt, chili and peanut sauce to make the food edible. Wouldn't recommend it unless you want to enjoy an ambience but not the food.

We went there for a birthday dinner and were very disappointed. The carafe wine was good and the tortelli dessert was amazing. However the entrees left much to be desired. First off, vegetarians be warned- there are only a handful of dishes on the menu to serve your liking. Secondly, the ravioli were laden with grease which took away the taste of the stuffing. Lastly, the traditional pasta with meatballs were soggy with no flavoring. I would go there again but only for the wine and dessert.

We went there to eat after seeing their ad for bbq meat on the menu. The food was ok compared to the king and I which is right around the corner. Neither of our rice dishers were flavorful although they were warm which convinced us that they were made to order. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are extremely hungry with no other options.

Definitely a gold mine!! We went there for dinner and had a swell time! We ordered the cevice mixto which was very well spiced per our request. We also ordered the pollo that was prepared mole style and very tasty. We topped it off with dessert (passion fruit mousse with waffles) which was delicious. Portions are plentiful and the total cost of the dinner was $43 for two. The wait staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to us even though we arrived 5 minutes before the kitchen closed- I highly recommend this swank, upscale restaurant with rich colors and fab food for intimate dining!

We had dinner on a Sunday at 8pm and fortunately we were seated right away. We had the tea leaf salad for an appetizer which was OK (compared to burma superstar). We had the sizzling lamb which was cooked in some delicious spices but was too greasy. The coconut rice was flavorful and moist. overall, I'd rate this restaurant as an average with much to be desired.

We went to Massawa for dinner on a Sat night and the wait staff immediately seated us. The chardonney from cape town, Africa wasn't impressive at all and had a very unusual aftertaste. However, the food was good- we ordered a combination vegetarian and combination meat platter and enjoyed it with some chili paste that we requested on the side. Overall, it was a good experience to be eating in communal style but I wasn't too impressed by the food.

This up scale Vietnamese restaurant opened up at the old Max's diner on May 17th. The ambience is trendy and hip and the wait staff is friendly and pace your meals so that you're rushed to eat and go. The ginger martini was quite good and so was the beef pha that we had as a starter along with the shrimp apps. Dining is family style and we shared the Caramelized Black Cod which was mouth watering and the pork that was served with unique tasting taro cakes. Overall, a great experience to have (price per person for a cocktail, appetizer and entree $40). I highly recommend making reservations since it gets quite busy.

Dinner there was fabulous! we had baba ghanoush which was rich, creamy and mouth watering. they served it with wheat pita which was a nice change from the traditional white pita bread. We ordered the chix in filo dough which was an amazing mix of cinnamon, raisins, chx and filo dough. The lamb kibbi was OK but could have been more moist. The turkish coffee was good and helped overcome the need to order desserts :)

After hearing much about Tokyo Go Go, I decided to check out for dinner on a Monday night. The cucumber gimlet was refreshing and quite good. We ordered a bunch of sashimis and the golden gate roll (it was OK) and the Azteca roll. The Azteca was my favorite since its a bit spicy and comes with jalapeno toppings :)
The dessert looked good (included ice cream and mochi to name a few) but we were too full to order any more food :)

I went to Kokkari for a business dinner and absolutely loved their appetizers. Their sample platter with hummus, tahini and pita was great. if you're looking for a hole in the wall eatery with not much to ambience but great tasting Pakistani food at an inexpensive price, Pakwan's the place to go. I won a gift certificate for $50 (thanks for sfsurvey) and enjoyed a hearty meal for three at the restaurant. The proscuitto with mozzarella was pretty good and the portion was quite large. We didn't enjoy the minestrone soup as much but would recommend the pizza with the pesto sauce sans the tomato sauce. It was unique and quite delish. There was no wait for our table at around 7pm which made the dining experience so much more fun.

I had heard so many good things about this restaurant but was very disappointed by the reservations staff. I had left a VM on their reservation line to confirm dinner for two and never received a call back. When I called on the day of the dinner I was told that they hadn't received my request for reservations and were all booked for the night. I explained that my friend and I were celebrating an occasion and were looking forward to eating there- I received no help and was told not even to bother coming in for a walk in because they were all booked for the night. Truly disappointing because the staff was rude, didn't apologize for the oversight in my reservations and didn't make any attempt to help me with an alternate seating.

We went there with a group of 10 friends and appreciated the prompt seating and relaxed atmosphere. It was our first time trying out this joint (we are die hard cha cha fans). The sangria was great but the food was alright. The chicken mole tapas was really good and so was the batata bravas but we were disappointed with the rest of the food. The steamed mussels lacked flavor and most of the other dishes were very greasy (you could see the oil floating around). I don't recommend the roasted eggplant because the oil factor killed the flavor. Fun place for drinks but not much can be said for the food.

We had dinner at Blowfish because their sfdineabout town menu looked pretty good. For $31, we had an amazing dinner. We started off with some mango mohitos and cucumber coolers which were pretty deliciously made. The pyramid tar tare is an excellent appetizer (tuna, salmon and avocado) served with ginger and a soy blend sauce. The sushi platter was filling and pretty good (we recommend the spicy tuna & dynamite rolls). After a very heavy meal, we still managed to indulge in the desserts which had an excellent presentation. We recommend the chocolate ganache & the banana and run flambe desserts. The place is trendy and is a good spot for groups. Be aware thought that they hold your reservation for $50 which gets charged to your CC if there's a no show.

If you're looking for some flavorful, authentic, home style Pakistani food, Shalimar's the place to be. There isn't any atmosphere (very basic) and the food may appear greasy to some but it is cooked in the traditional Pakistani way. We went to Crustacean for dinner to check out their sfdineabouttown prix fix menu. Instead we landed up ordering ala carte and tasted the roasted salmon, the broiled catch of the day (red snapper) and sea bass. The sea bass lacked some seasoning and was somewhat bland but the salmon was well cooked and marinated in some delish spices. The red snapper was also pretty good (marinated in cumin and other south Asian spices) and the paper noodles could be replaced with their famous garlic noodles (we didn't find it good enough to recommend ordering a side). Overall, the ambience was good, the service pleasant and a great seafood dining experience.

This place is surprisingly big- the narrow alley entrace is decieving- we weren't aware of the patio in the back until we explored the area while waiting for a table at the bar. The Ensalata gambe (shrimp with feta and lime vinegarette) is quite good. So is the bruchetta and caprese salad. The carpacio wasn't very flavorful and I wouldn't recommend it. We had a party of 12 and had to wait for a half hour despite having reservations. The food was incredible however our wait staff could learn to be more courteous.
