this place is decent. nice place. a tad fancy but it feels overrated considering their food isn't that great. for italian and mediterranean food, the menu didn't really tickle my fancy. i didn't feel like there was a decent variety to choose from. their pastas were all right but i've had better. their veggies looked worn out and old (smaller dishes). their hummus tastes like something you could buy yourself from trader joe's. get yourself a peroni (good, light italian beer) and just head here for crappy appetizers.

cute spot in the haight . i like ordering my food and sitting by the window to people watch. never a dull moment in SF! okay back to food - praram (peanut sauce flavored chicken or tofu over spinach) is good. pad thai could use some work where it lacked tofu, sprouts, and other toppings. not the best thai food but one of the better thai spots to eat in the haight. eat here to get your fix of food. then, cross the street to get your music fix at amoeba. :)

the food could be better. small portions. i ordered these 'triangles' which were really yellow curry filled samosas (they were okay) and peanut sauce (mediocre but edible). i had this mango chicken dish (nuts, peppers, onions, and yes- mango, chicken. haha) - and it was cooked rather fast but good. although, i feel like i got jipped for $8 for this (lunch)considering how small the dish was. food is good but not worth the money. haha sorry i tend to be really hungry during lunch and figured i could eat a mountain of food elsewhere.

dee-lish mochas with chocolate whip cream that is just damn yummy. the mango cake is quite exquisite which i purchased for a birthday that was raved over. and some of their pastries (such as these flaky twist things where its name has unfortunately slipped my mind) go so good with coffee in the morn. get a mocha and enjoy your day walking around the financial district.

"when i walked in, i thought this place would be some ordinary restaurant/bar with okay food. didn't think too much of it at first but my mind changed later. what did get me was the staff was extremely nice and accomodating. awesome folks. free dinner courtesy of sfsurvey.com (hurrah! thank you!!). which is why i checked out perry's in the first place (i never really bothered to explore union st./marina area until lately). the crab cakes were pretty good for starters, ahi tuna sandwhich was excellent!, and the ginger cake with ice cream was pretty yummy too. definitely going to make a trip back there."

the fries (has some kind of chili sauce on it) are amazing. spicy but sweet. the tofu with peanut sauce is good too. they have samosas with yellow curry are okay. my favorite thing being these pancake type things that comes with a batter. they have a lot dishes that come with peanut sauce so don't miss out on that. they have these noodles that reminded me of pad thai but were definitely something else. i felt like their food was a mix of filipino, chinese, thai, vietnamese, and indian food. i've never had indonesian food before so i'm not sure really what it is authentic. yet i dig the mix of food here.

This is by far one of my favorite veggie places in SF. And yes, you have to try the neatloaf sandwhiches as mentioned in some of the other reviews. Neatloaf is like meatloaf but no meat and a mash of things. Their cherry blossom tea is amazing. Very refreshing. Falafels are very good and comes with salad or veggies. Portions are pretty big and the prices are cheap. The walls are painted with some kind of cloud like design. Even if you're not a vegetarian, try it out. The main downside is that they're not always open on sundays.

Santorini is in a nice little location by Union Square. It was a Saturday afternoon when I went and it wasn't crowded or dead. Clean place and the prices were reasonable. For two people, I had lunch for about $30. I don't know of too many Mediterranean restaurants (yet) but this place was good. The falafels are delicious and not dry like some other places I've been to. The baklava is okay but was a bit too drowned in syrup and not crisp. There's this one dish (can't remember the entire name).. I believe it's pomegranate chicken or something. Nice, moist, and very tasty. Good for folks who haven't eaten a lot of this cuisine before.
