I enjoyed a yummy salad from here and my friend had a Niman Burger. All the food was cooked very well. Once you figure out the ordering system, its really a good place.
After order, we hung out right at Noe and Market and enjoyed a sunny San Francisco Saturday afternoon.

We just got seated as the Friday night dinner rush started. The food was good and portions filling. Only complaint was the noise level and that they seem to really cram them in. Which in the Castro is something you should be used to. No, not like that, but with the size of the resturant.

There's been too many negative reviews about this resturant. So I had to chime in with my experience.
It can be best summed up in one word. PERFECT.
A good friend had joined me for his first ever visit to San Francisco. We stayed in the Castro, and I wanted to take him there by his request. Everything was just great. The service was wonderful, the seafood itself. During the meal we re-hashed our trip and also were amazed at the great presentation of the meal and how the flavors complimented one another.
The portions were very nicely sized, everything cooked to perfect. If you haven't been back or turned off by the negative reviews, don't be.

This is a resturant that I was on the fence about reviewing. My experience was great, but the time that I went, I was able to go with two other friends and were seated immediately on a Saturday night.
The staff is one of the friendliest I have ever encountered. It wasn't like we were walking into a resturant, but welcomed into someone's home. My friends selected perfect wines for the dining experience.
The food was tremendous. I had the pumpkin ravioli which was some of the most amazing food I have ever had in my life. Same can be said about my friends meals. Pricing was welcome for a party of three with two bottles of wine. I can't wait to go back. They offer pizza on thier menu, I salivate thinking about what those folks do with that.

Worth the pilgramage to the East Bay for this food. If you're lookin for a new dining experience check this out..

If you're lookin for "NY style pizza" this is the place to go. In all my visits to SF, I was all about that place up Castro street. I was wrong, this is the best pizza on Castro street.
Great well baked pizza, friendly welcoming staff.

Got the chance to check this place out thanks to SF Survey. Great location and very attentive service. I was visitng from Philadelphia and had a friend who is a local. Need to keep people going and we were both very pleased. We were taken right to our table upon arrival and service was quite attentive. The food was great. Well great is an understatement. I had the salmon and my friend enjoyed the chicken. Both came out of the kitchen piping hot and tasted great. The only drawback was that the parmesan-reggiano fries were a bit cold when they got to the table, but I muddled through. We forced ourselves to dessert, which was tough since the portions of the entrees were so huge.
It was a great overall dining experience. The location is great , centrally located near the theatres, symphony, etc. Get there and enjoy this place. Definately well worth it. My dining partner will be there again and I cant wait to return myself!

One of the first resturants I ever visited in San Francisco. So it will always hold a special place for me. Went there twice actually, once with co workers during a meeting and then by myself to see what it was " really like". Service levels didn't change nor did the quality of the food. First trip was for lunch and had an awesome Caesar Salad. Returned for brunch later in my stay and enjoyed some great French Toast. YUM.

Great pizza here and service. Here I am able to find my "elusive" Buffalo Chicken Pizza. And do they do it right, just like East Coast. But here its called "Wingin It" and comes with a mix of gorgonzola and mozzarella to give it a special taste. 1grab one of those and also a couple beers cause it gets pretty darn hot.
Have gone with friends who have gotten the calzones and other pizzas. No complaints on those.

I like this place. Food is good. Service can be spotty. They can be either very attentive or off in some other land. I've gotten the quesdillas which have been ok. Once time I ate them there, sitting out over looking the street and everything was great. But once I got an order for carry out to the place I stay which is about 2 blocks away. When I got back and opened it up, the food was cold already. Which I found odd. It wasn't particularly a cold day in SF. So they're 1-1 with me. I just think they need to have more consistant service, its a good location- but if you're lookin for authentic mexican- head down a bit to the Mission.

Used to be a favorite stop for me in SF. Good food and good service. But the service has gone downhill. My last trip eating in, the food was just ok, not great as I had expected in the past. Then on my most recent vist, I got an order to go of the Mac and Cheese I had remembered so well. Very disappointed. Small portion at regular price and it was very greasy and bland.
I think a previous reviewer called this "tired". I agree..

I have been going to SF for over 10 years. Generally I stay or spend alot of my time in the Castro. Walked past the Bagdad alot but never ate there. One day I gave in and finally went in for breakfast.
I was one of two patrons in there and the service was still terrible. Cofffee was cold, food was cold. I actually just tried a little bit of my food, couldnt get a coffee refill or the check. I just left money on the table and got up and left and went someplace else for a real meal.
As I left I said to myself, well thats why you never went thier before.
Eek.

Since the lines aren't very long, normally when I am lookin for something quick, I will go to the Posh Bagel for a sandwich. I actually kind of enjoy them, even after having it for about 10/15 minutes it is still hot. But it is dry, which is why I did this as a negative review since I'm on the fence. Its alot better than the pre made sandwiches from that 7-11 down a bit on 18th street.

Amazing. This resturtant gives new meaning to intimate. But in a good way. Great service and some of the best food I've ever had in my life. French meets Asian. I actually felt as though I was on Iron Chef enjoying a meal prepared by Sakai-san.
I was taken to this resturant by two dear friends for my birthday. When the waiter learned it was my birthday, they offered creme brulee' as a desert with a candle in it.
Definately a visit if you're looking for a tremendous dining experience.

Castro location, great large portions. It gets more crowded the later it gets in the evening as the bar closes. I've been here various times of the day and night and always had a good meal and equally good service.
This is a throwback to a 40's diner. You've got a juke box and can people watch anytime of the day or night, its right next to the end/start of the F trolley car line too.

Went to this place based on a local's recommendation. I was with a friend and looking for lunch before going to the Balboa Theater. I was not at all pleased. Service was almost non existant and there were very few people in the resturant. My friend ordered the ribs, what he got were bones with fat all over them. I had a cheesesteak and fries. Fries were cold and roll hard.
Not a good time at all.

This is a good spot for breakfast. At least for me. I make at least one visit when I come to town. Nice big omelettes, hash browns and the coffee keeps a flowing. Its fun to get there, grab a window seat and check out things goin by on Castro Street. The extra hours helps and fighting goes on for the window seat.
Took a friend there recently (09/07) and he raved about the fish and chips and how close to authentic they were. The waitress brought the malt vinegar without asking. YUM. A definate MUST visit.

This might also border on a negative review.
Back when I first started visiting San Francisco, I would stay downtown for work reasons. Lefty's was always a breakfast must. Id tell those waiting in line at Sears to go to Lefty's. I would take friends, and theyd rave about the place. I made a visit back there last visit and was really disappointed. Prices went way up and food was just ok, service was non existant as best.

Got there early on a weekday morning. Had a seat at the counter and what a great chance that was. Watched the cook make all of the meals with great precision. It was a sight to behold. Had a huge omelet put in front of me that was sooo yummy. A great eye opener, which I needed since I was up earlier than planned. When I was done, I left full and the line was down the street. This is a good friend's favourite resturant. He was nice enough to bring me along on my last visit. It was a great time. The staff is friendly and prices quite reasonable. The steak cubes were great.
