A-MAZE-ING!!! Best dining experience ever! The service is impeccable. The ambiance is nice, without being snooty. They encourage you to ask questions and don't make you feel stupid while doing so. We both got the 5 course dinner so that we could experience the maximum amount of food. They helped pair wine with each of our courses - a half bottle of white for the seafood, half bottle of red for the red meat. Our favorite- the lobster risotto and the CHEESE PLATE!!! Also- the mascarpone cheese dessert. MMMMM. If only I didn't have to to into debt to dine here I would be here at least once a month.

Came here for New Years Eve dinner with a large group. We had the 9? course prix - fixe meal. We all enjoyed the options, and the presentation was stunning. The fish was fresh, and the views INCREDIBLE- the bay bridge right out the window. We were not excited when we asked for a help with a sake selection and the waitress pointed out $500 and $700 bottles- I didn't even know there WAS sake that was that expensive- no thank you! Other than that, we got to try a pretty large sampling of their menu- even the things I had never tried- there was a special course that was traditional Japanese new year cuisine- a few things that were a bit peculiar, yet interesting. Another thing that was kind of cool was that in the bar, that was not that far away, there was pretty much a dance party going on with techno/dance music going on- but you couldn't hear it unless you wanted to- like two different worlds.

Cute atmosphere- good service, even though it was packed when I went. Sat at the sushi bar and ordered directly from the sushi chef. We couldn't decide what sake to get, so our waitress recommended two for us to try based on our tastes. Both were excellent and we ended up ordering a couple more glasses. For dinner we ordered the ahi poke, soba salad, and a few pieces of nigiri. The fish was extremely fresh and firm- the most important thing in a sushi restaurant. The poke included greens, which made it like a little salad. I have not been impressed with the quality of sushi at any place in SF until this place.

SO MANY CHOICES!!! I sat for about 10 minutes trying to decide between about 5 things on the menu- all sounded delicious. I settled on a smoothie and a bowl of coconut noodle soup. As soon as I saw the guy get a bowl of chili and a green salad next to me, I wanted that!! It all looked SO YUMMY! Anyway, I got my food very quickly and was satisfied with my selection, after all. The smoothie was fruity but not too sweet like so many are. The soup had mushrooms, pineapple (interesting and good addition), carrots, tofu, bean sprouts, thai noodles, and a coconut milk base. It had really good flavor, but was WAY too much food. For the price, they stuff you! At least that was my experience on this visit. I can't wait to go back and try something else.

Probably the best sushi experience I've had in the Bay Area. We went to the sushi bar, not the full restaurant in order to be seated faster. We had the tofu on ice appetizer- very tasty, firm tofu. We then ordered many different pieces of nigiri- all of the fish was fresh, firm, and pretty well sized. The sake menu is HUGE- we had the waitress suggest a few sakes- which you can get by the glass, half bottle, or bottle. Finally, we got the dessert sampler, which had 4 different desserts that they were making that evening. My favorite was the passion fruit sorbet! Although it was a little bit pricey, over all, the experience was positive- I would recommend this as a date place.

Got a garden of eden pizza to go, had a beer while we waited for the pizza to be made, about 15 mins. The pizza was thin, crispy, and lots of fresh yummy ingredients. We had them put pesto instead of the tomato sauce. Reasonably priced- about $15 for our small specialty pizza. Definitely a good deal for good pizza. I'll have to try eat- in next time.

I never walked in this place because it used to be a HORRIBLE brewery, then one day I noticed that the name had changed- WONDER BREW. So, I decided to attend their taco tuesdays- $2 tacos (AMAZING) and I think it was $1 beers or something. Their beers are GREAT. The owner/brewmaster is usually there and he will talk to you about the beers and the brewing process. They are very accommodating and willing to change the channel to whatever game you want to watch. The sweet potato fries are ADDICTING- I could not stop eating them once I started. The decoration is very modern, and the balcony is a nice addition. Seating is comfortable, but go early because it gets FULL!! Sit at the bar if you can.

Went here with a HUGE group of people. Got to sample a little bit of everything and a LOT of wine. The food was all very good. My favorite was the fresh mozzarella- looked and tasted like they pulled it that morning. It's a little cramped, and very loud, so don't go for a quiet dinner.

Portions are HUGE- I got the kind of thai style crepe with peanut sauce and mushrooms and tofu- very good once I added a bit of hot sauce. The green salad you get on the side is a little wet with dressing, but it's pretty good. Beer on tap, which is a plus. My boyfriend got the fish tacos- LOTS OF FOOD! Everything comes with a side of home fries too.

Love the salads! Every choice you could think of for a salad. I only wish I could get more toppings!! The one thing that I'm not a fan of is that there is always a line, and the people that work there aren't the most efficient. Also, one time I ordered a salad with portobello mushrooms on top, and when I got home to eat it, it had steak... Good thing I'm not a vegetarian!

Strong drinks, good chips and salsa, and good food. The house margaritas, although they look harmless in the small pitchers, are pretty deadly! I don't even like margaritas because most places put so much mix in them- but these were all tequila and lime. I got the steak fajitas- HUGE portions. I made two fajitas and my plate looked like it hadn't been touched, but I was STUFFED. We also got the guac- mix in a little spicy salsa and it's perfect! Definately gets crowded so expect a wait- but that's OK, you can pass the time with a margarita in the bar.

Good ambiance- large, open room, pretty noisy, but in a good way. The sangria is OK, a little too fmuch orange juice for me, but still strong! Food is good- we had a ceviche that was very tasty, came with spicy plantain chips. Both of the entrees that we shared were very well spiced and cooked. I reccommend dining family style so you can taste a little bit of everything. I hear it gets crowded so GO EARLY!

Great service, great food, cute place. We went for the 5 course tasting menu which included (for two) soup, two apps, an entree, and dessert. We both started with sunchoke soup- creamy with a kick- very yummy. The apps were skewers that consisted of chicken meatballs and grilled grapes- meat was moist, grapes were a sweet touch. Also, the med. sampler of dips with grilled pitas. I then had the yellowfin tuna- perfectly seared on the outside, with an eggplant accompaniment (I don't know what was in it but it tasted grrrreat). He had the prawn tangine- the best cooked shrimp he's ever had, he says. The tomato sauce it came in was thick with veggies in it- had a really good curry flavor. Dessert was chocolate three ways for me- I liked the chocolate gelato that came on a flat cookie/cracker, and the chocolate nugget, but didn't like the orange chocolate (not my style). He had the crepe with apple (or pear) and basil ice cream - suprisingly good combination!

Hard to spot if you don't live in the neighborhood and walk down the street often. There is no sign, just a couple neon lights in the window- situated on the corner of Noriega and 47th "the pizza place on Noriega" is FABULOUS! Such great pizza!!! This little place opened a few months ago- right down the street from my house. They sell slices, they sell pies, salads, apps, all so good!! They have very inventive combinations- a vegan pizza! They chop all of the toppings so that you never get a bite that doesn't have a bit of everything you wanted. Very cute- nice furniture- cheap beer, and plenty of seating. The only thing missing is a TV or a pool table. They did recently apply for a permit to have an outdoor patio and I believe it passed. This is a great little neighborhood pizzeria- and, in my opinion, one that I would travel to even if I didn't live in the sunset because the pizza is THAT good.

Read the reviews- had to try! Arrived at the time of our reservation (7), seated immediately. The atmosphere is awesome- three long rows of tables in a pretty big courtyard. Candles on the table. We ordered a bottle of wine from their extensive wine list and were very happy with the choice. Our waitress was very helpful and told us about the daily changing menu and her suggestions. We started with the antipasto- ricotta cheese wrapped in mozzerella with salame and delicious tomatoes. Next we both had the soup which was jalepeno, lime, cilantro soup which was awesome- spicy and light. For our entrees, I had the linquine with vegetables (lots of them) and the boyfriend had the lavender pork which I tried and actually liked (I hate pork). Then, as it got dark and the movie started - so cool!- we ordered the lavender creme brulee. The crispy toppy mixed with the creamy inside was amazing!! We had a great experience and want to go back for brunch!!

This is a VERY cute restaurant in the mission. We had reservations at 7 on a Thursday night, got there at 645 and were seated immediately. The service was phenomenal from begin ng to end- never had an empty glass of sangria (very good, sweet with tiny pieces of fruit instead of the big chunks) or water. We started with the ahi tartare, served with fried wonton skins. It was plated nicely and tasted just as good as it looked. Next we had th ceviche limon and ceviche de camarones. The first had fish, octopus, squid, shrimp, and then mussels, peruvian corn, and a sweet potato on the side-this was my favorite- the most citrusy. As they serve each plate they describe what is in it- very cool. The ceviche camarones was great- all shrimp with a sweet sauce that had a kick. We then shared an entree that had all sorts of seafood atop saffron rice. Whatever they put in the sauce was AMAZING. We finished with the chocolate cake- one of the best we've had!!

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. We got there a bit early so we went to the bar and each got a wine flight. After that, I got a champagne drink, which the bartender gave me on the house because it was my birthday! Once we were seated (pretty cozily amongst the other tables), we chose a bottle of wine from their extensive wine list, and ordered some of the small plates for apps. The asparagus and prawn roll was great- came with an amazing sauce. The ahi was cooked to perfection, but it was served atop of a red sauce, which was different and I wasn't a fan, but luckily it did not overpower the fish. We also shared the GINORMOUS cheese plate - four cheeses, apples, grapes, and toasted bread- mmmm. We split the ribeye with fries for the entree- it was cooked very well, but my boyfriend took care of eating most of that. To end it all, the waitress surprised me with a chocolate mousse cake with a candle in it to wish me a happy bday (on the house!) This place was great!

The best part about this place is their bread and the roasted garlic appetizer. Smother on the whole roasted garlic cloves, and a bit of their homemade pesto and mmmmmmm. We also had the steamed clams as an app- pretty good, although WAY overpriced. Having the bread as a starter would lead one to believe that they're in for a treat come entree time... However, when the meals came out, no one at our table was impressed. The gnochetti looked like it came straight from a freezer ( a Trader Joes freezer, but still...), the first words out of my boyfriend's mouth were 'nice boxed mashed potatoes', and he was not impressed with the ribs. I opted for the panzanella salad- good, but not good enough for $10, and I had the potato soup which was WAY too rich. Not a special meal at all.

All you need is the jalepeno cornbread and a few drinks and you are SET!!! This place is awesome- they treat you like you're family, and want to make you happy. I've tried a lot of things here and they are all really good- of course it's always been with a buzz (maybe that's their trick). I love the oysters rockefeller (especially on a Thursday when they're 1/2 off). The alligator egg is SO RICH, you must share with multiple people, but you gotta try it. The one thing that I would say is the best of all the things I've tried are the fish tacos!!! If nothing else, try those!!! And the jalepeno cornbread of course...

Sat right by the window, on a nice sunny Saturday- definitely a plus. There were three of us- we ordered some spicy thai noodles (not spicy, but good), the green beans- mmm very flavorful, calamari with chili oil sauce- I loved it because they had jalepenos mixed in with the calamari- mixes things up a bit, and adds some spice, then the lettuce wraps- yummy yummy. On top of this, I had the vodka/sake martini which went down WAY too fast. My mom and her friend both enjoyed the mojitos which they both absolutely loved- not too sweet. Our service was very good, everytime one of our drinks was empty, we were asked if we wanted another and the food came out quickly. The only complaint we had was that we were in the bar area, and still there were children around us... At least they weren't screaming.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the pizza! My boyfriend and I go here, share the chef salad which has lots of good ingredients- salami, mozzarella shreds, bell peppers, olives, etc. Then we either get our own customized slices, or share a pizza. The sizes are great- we always get more than we need to take some home. My favorite thing to get there is the ultimate vegetarian with pesto sauce. Beware: they drizzle the pesto on top, it's not substituted for the sauce- but I just absolutely love it. The crust is thicker, but it is very flavorful. To top it off, they have great beer specials- Pints - Mon and Wed, and Pitchers Tues, Thurs. If you're in the sunset and have a craving for pizza, this is definitely the place...

Due to most people's recommendations, we went straight to the wine bar. We had a nice high table right in the window- a great place to people watch. We each started with a wine flight- it's a wine bar, so you gotta try the flights, right? I got three tastes, he got 4- it was great to taste all the different wines and decide on our favorites.
For dinner we ordered three small plates- a crostini with goat cheese and roasted tomato- TO DIE FOR! Mussels with sausage- very good, the only thing we didn't like is the mint mixed in- neither of us are huge fans. The last thing we got were the ahi spring rolls- which were SO GOOD!! I could not believe it! For dessert, we shared a champagne flight and the chocolate lava cake- so decadent- I don't even care how many calories it had in it- I would eat 5 more!! This place impressed us very much- we came hungry and left full (and a little tipsy) without having to empty our wallets or order 8 plates...

Out in my little sunset neighborhood, I could not believe we found this amazing gem of a restaurant! It is the perfect date spot, small, cute, and inviting. We started with the sizzling plate of shrimp and mussels, which they bring out on a griddle, sizzling, as the name suggests. The shrimp were incredibly seasoned- possibly the best I've ever had. The mussels must have been on steroids because they were HUGE! Next, we got the calamari, which was good, not fabulous. I had the seared ahi with gnocchi for my main course- the fish was cooked to perfection, and the gnocchi was to die for! My boyfriend had the halibut, which he raved about. His mom had the steak, which I tasted, and was seasoned and cooked perfectly! To top it off- service was perfect!! I know it's hard to believe, but I would say it is one of the best meals I've had in San Francisco!

My boyfriend took me here for Valentines' day- we showed up earlier than our reservation, and they were able to sit us then. There was a prix- fixe menu that night, which, although small, had a variety of options. We opted to do the wine pairing with our dinner. The food was AMAZING- the appetizer was hamachi with jalepeno and orange, coupled with a blood orange mimosa- FANTASTIC! We both had a red pepper stuffed with crab meat and other yumminess- also very good. For my main course, I had filet mignon, and my boyfriend had the 'quail' which he says was actually dove- but either way both were extremely delicious. The service was great, so was the food. I would definately reccomend going here- it's a great date place.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE sushi- and I had heard all this great stuff about EBISU. I work right in the area, so my boyfriend and I decided to go for lunch one day. OH THE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! The atmosphere leave MUCH to be desired and the service was OK, not anything to brag about. Worst of all the fish was NOT fresh or firm, the rolls were not creative in the least, and the portions were tiny- my boyfriend wanted to go for burritos after. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I am such a sushi elitest, and have been seraching for good sushi in the city since I moved here in May. My boss recommended this little hole in the wall place and WOW was I impressed. Just for sitting down you receive TWO soups, TWO salads, and green tea. The cost of sake is exactly how much it would cost if you had bought it from BevMo yourself, and the fish is FRESH. They don't skimp on portions, and the service is SO FAST! To top it off- once you're completely stuffed from their incredible sushi, they serve you icecream! This is by far my favorite sushi place in town.

This place was recommended to me by someone as a great place for weekend brunch, so I took some friends that were in town visiting for the weekend. Upon arrival, we were all impressed by the layout of the place, and immediately chose to sit on the back patio since it was a gorgeous morning. The menu looked great and we all had trouble choosing what to order. When we finally made up our minds and ordered, the appetizer we ordered, jalapeno cornbread, was served to us almost immediately, and it was delectable. However, as we sat there and waited, watched people who had gotten there 20 mins after us receive their food before us, the novelty of the lovely patio quickly wore out. Finally, after waiting at least an hour, our food came out (the restaurant was not crowded AT ALL). The food was good, but by the time it came out, all of us agreed we would have rather gotten a bagel at a corner cafe than waited an hour for the food. Hopefully you get a better waitress...
