Giorgio's Pizzeria,
I eat pizza for lunch at Giorgio's whenever I'm in the area. I took my kids there and now my kids are taking their kids! It's crowded at nights, so I usually do takeout.....they don't deliver.....but f you don't mind waiting for a table....it's a fun place to eat pizza....the waitresses are friendly....the atmosphere is kind of old Italian and very lively....families are welcome!

Old Clam House (The),
The atmosphere was interesting, kind of like an old saloon....not as fancy and glamorous as some of the restaurants in Fisherman's Wharf. The food was good. We tried clam chowder soup, cioppino, calamari, and ribeye steaks. It was tasty dunking the day old sourdough french bread in warm clam juice. The prices were slightly on the high side for the area. I would go back for drinks and a quick snack.

We went on a crowded, rainy night.....what a pleasant surprise to go inside and get seated right away in a spacious booth. Even with a large fireplace nearby, the place is dark....we had to laugh when the waiter gave us the menu......together we pulled out our little keychain flashlights to read the menu. I, myself enjoy dimly lit places. I had the Hawaiian ribeye...it was cooked perfectly...tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The prices are comparable to other steakhouses. I enjoyed my steak while sipping on wine and listening to a trio playing some jazz. It was a relaxing evening. I recommend trying this restaurant for a special occasion!

It's best to make reservations....it's crowded...it's busy....it's lively. The prime rib was delicious. The service was great. The owner was gracious. The ambience was nice....dim lighting....the decor reminded me of the Knights of the Roundtable. I would definitely go back again.

I've been back many times to try different dishes. The food is stick-to-the-ribs good and filling....you won't leave hungry. The prices are very reasonable. The service is friendly and fast. The decor is interesting....it'll take you back in time. I usually have to wait a few minutes for a booth or take a seat at the counter. I'd go back again.

When I'm in the area, I go to have a quick breakfast there. I like Joe's Special. It has spinach, mushrooms, and ground beef in the scrambled eggs. The waitressses are friendly, the place is old-looking, and the prices are okay for breakfast. My granddaughter gets a kick out of the old decor and clock, and loves to sit at the counter. I would go back for breakfast anytime!

Long gone isTommy's, the little hole-the-wall restaurant with authentic good food that I remember some fifteen, twenty years ago.
Now it's more of a tourist trap for people who don't know or care what good Mexican food is. It's convenient for the area if you don't like to travel very far. They seem to raise the prices when they do a little remodeling to the restaurant....what they should be remodeling is their dirty bathrooms! Keep an eye out for the cook that picks his nose and handles your food....they don't wear gloves!!
I wouldn't go there anymore....

Ming River is gone and out of business....and so are the reasonably low prices, delicious dishes, and Uncle Bill. But not to worry, if you liked Ming's, the same cooks and waiters are now at THE IMPERIAL GARDEN on San Bruno Ave. , around three blocks from Silver Ave. Uncle Bill is now owner!!
It's more of a high-classy, high-pricey restaurant and it's definitely not a hole-in-the-wall like Ming River's was. It has some ambience and the food is basically the same....except fancy cut and pretty to look at, which makes it very appetizing. Uncle Bill says the restaurant focuses mainly on weddings, special occasions, parties, and conventions. If you enjoyed Uncle Bill's humor....stop by to say hello and give it a try. My family is having Chinese New Year dinner there.

I go there a lot in the mornings with my granddaughter before I take her to school. We have glazed doughnuts and hot chocolate with whipped cream. The doughnuts are good, although not as large as they used to make them when they first opened up for business. I found it curious though that they charge me different prices everytime I go there....and the time before last they wanted to charge .25 for the whipped cream. I think they are hard up for business and will penny pinch anyone! I will avoid going there....and if my granddaughter begs me for hot chocolate and doughnuts in the morning before school, I will have to try the place down the street!

I love this restaurant. I have been there many times and always had a pleasant and positive experience. The busy staff are courteous and helpful. I recommend the salmon.....it is the best I ever had.....flaky, moist, and grilled to perfection and try one of their own beers. The Beach Chalet is a good restaurant for a romantic date....the ambience....dimly lit.... comfortable booths....and of course, the ocean view is spectacular, especially at sunset There is plenty of parking space and I didn't find the prices any more expensive, than say the Wharf. Weekends and nights are busy, so there will be a short wait....but it's fun to have a drink at the bar....it can get very lively with the jazz band playing. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will return again and again........
