“ I'm a regular. The owner knows me. If it's your first time, just go with the 7 courses of beef. Pay attention, pick out your favorites for the next time. Mine are: beef rolled in green leaf, beef grounded with peas & silver noodle (looks like an upside down rice bowl), egg rolls and the shrimp paste rolled on sugarcane sticks. Not a fancy place and you really smell like the restaurant afterwards, but this is authentic vietnamese food.

“ My friend and I had the 7 course beef meal which is ~$15 per person. Wow is all I have to say because it was delicious, authentic, and filling. I went in when it just opened at 5pm for dinner and got a seat right away but it got crowded fast. Make sure your hands are clean before you dig into the 7 beef course because its a hands on meal.

“ How can you not like 7 courses of beef?!? Actually, last time I went, we had 8 since we ordered the raw beef. Get that... it is soaked in lime juice, cut thin, and is good. The beef sausages and meatloaf are particularly good, as they are are sweet and savory. The jook at the end is nice too. My friend usually saves the meatloaf thing that is served with the sausages to throw into the jook, and I would have to agree with him, those two go great together. Bring some friends and get ready for some food coma. Parking ain't so hot, plus your out in the TL, even so, I recommend going.

“ Went here with a vietnamese friend, he introduced me to authentic vietnamese food at Anh Hong. The Parking was hard to find but the food is really great. We had Seven Courses of Beef and it sure is a lot of beef that we get. Most of the dishes you have to wrap with rice papers lettuce, pickles carrots and dip in fish sauce. The waiters were a little slow on the service and the bill, but the food I really enjoyed. would give a better rating was it not for the wait. ”

“ Coming here with a vietnamese buddy was a experience both of us would like to forget. He said that he heard good things about it. First of all, you need an armed guard by your car if you park anywhere in the area. From a block away we were hassled 10 times for change, once inside, we were seated the service became sporadic, after he ordered we waited for at least 30 minutes for our first dishes to arrive. His comments were that quantity was there but quality was not! After waiting for the waiter again, (to order something else) he made some comments to him and then went ballistic, only telling me that they said that they had enough business from Vietnam groupies, vets and bargain seeking families living on limited funds and didn’t care if we liked anything or not. My spin was that the plates although piled high with veggies, didn’t have the same quality in the meat and seafood that I have had elsewhere. The PPQ is better and more authentic. With that attitude,Sorry, no return!

“ We tried Anh Hong Saigon with a group of 10 hungry people. A few of the group that had been many times before were appointed to order for the whole bunch and I must say they made excellent choices! I cant tell you the proper names for all the dishes but everything was tasty and fresh. I especially enjoyed the pork with the rice noodle cakes. It’s a clean place that is more about enjoying the food and the company, than about the atmosphere. The service was fast and accommodating. Next time I want to try the 7 course beef. This is a perfect place to take a large group on a budget. ”

“ This was my first experiance with vietnamese food. At first I thought it was all bunny food, then I found some shrimp in one of the dish's and then a number of beef plates arrived. I'm such a carnivor all this bunny food left me creaving meat, so next time I'll have to try the 7 course beef, Good value, tasty food.

“ Everybody should come here and try their 7 course beef!!! It is soooo good!! For only $15.95 you get 7 different plates of food!! but you have to order 2 orders for them to make it.. Should also order the Anh Hong egg rolls and shrimp on sugarcane.. really yummy.. comes with rice paper, lettuce, carrots and cucumber, and fish sauce.. Wrap everything up and dip it in the sauce and you would crave for it every week.. Come here when it opens at 5 but no later then 6:30.. after that it gets packed unless you make reservations. ”

“ I go here frequently and enjoy real vietnamese food at low low prices! They always give me the hot water with the dry papers so maybe it's a matter of who the server is that night! They give you a lot of greens with the food such as chia gio (imperial rolls). The imperial rolls are how they should be-small and neat. Their grilled pork pieces are delish and have that good grilled smoky taste. $5 corkage fee for wine but they do have other glasses of wine that are a cut above most little holes in the wall. Overall, it's a tremendous value and a great place to take out-of-towners for an asian meal but in a good price range. Most of the patrons are vietnamese and on Sunday night, you see all the family together at the table: grandparents, siblings, kids, etc. ”

“ 7 Courses of Beef - not vegetarian friendly! Leave your Vegans at home for this one. The 7 Courses of Beef menu states a price "per person" but it really translates from vietnamese to "per order". If you are both moderate eaters, one order can feed two people easily. Two orders can feed three people.
Basically you are wrapping your own spring/imperial rolls. If you are adventurous, ask for the shrimp paste sauce. That's what vietnamese really dip the rolls in and it is very tasty. The sight and smell are less than desireable though. No matter what sauce you choose, you will leave dinner smelling like beef so don't bother coming in nice clothes.
BTW as the previous reviewer states, some places serve the rice papers dry and provide a bowl of hot water for hydrating them as you eat. Anh Hong doesn't but you can ask they do this. Highly recommended that you do it this way. ”

“ This place has really great 7 Course beef.
Request the anchovy pineapple sauce if you do not get it automatically.
My one and only issue, they provide you with the rice paper wrappers already dipped in water, this makes it more difficult to peel apart as dinner progresses.
The only solution is to eat fast. Some places provide you a bowl of hot water to re-hydrate your rice paper. 7 course beef is very good here, a once in a while "I want meat" fix. ”
