I like the buffalo chicken salad - that's the only thing I usually order. Good place to go on a weekend afternoon. Nothing special about this place (service is hit or miss) but location is good and prices are decent. Review #11643

It's an ok place for drinks. It's usually pretty crowded...but if you can get a seat by the window it's great for people watching and a couple of drinks and maybe an app. I'd go to Baghdad Cafe or Nirvana for dinner though...if you want similar food that is better. Review #11278

I have not had any food here. It's always very crowded and every one seems to be having a good time and you can usually hear yourself talking to your friends, so as a bar it's ok. Review #10981

When you want a drink in the Castro without a huge bar crowd...this is a good meeting spot. Nice bartenders and cute friendly waitstaff. Ive eaten here a bunch of times too and it never really impresses me, but for a basic salad, bite to eat, or plate of nachos while you watch the crowds go by the big windows on Castro/18th-it is good. more bar than resturant. But if you want a nice lunch in the afternoon and watch the fun along Castro Street, there's big windows for that. Its ok. Review #8973

Better for socializing than for eating. Typical (but large) bar menu.... gets loud, particularly on quiz nights. A fun place though. Review #7275

If you go to restaurant.com, you can get cheapo gift certificates to Harvey's. I think the food is pretty good. Big plate of nachos. Fish and chips is pretty tasty too. Review #7063

Not really a place to eat, more meet and greet and drink. Food is uneven and menu is all over the place. Review #5190

i concur with the other writers, Harvey's is a local joint good for getting a drink, not so great for dinner. On a Monday night, the atmosphere was pretty laid back and nice, but the food appeared mediocre. My salad relatively small but otherwise descent, while my partner's pasta seemed like it was meant to be a "small plate." However, with cheap prices, you get what you pay for. Review #4919

Decent spot to get a drink, to see and be seen as it's at the intersection of Castro and 18th. Food is mediocre at best and the waiter, while free with recommending and not recommending menu items, was spread to thin to provide us with suitable attention. Review #4918

You have to order their Bloody Mary - it is great. I like Harvey's for its atmosphere and reliable food. They have a good brunch menu and daily specials. The service is not great, but a good place for hanging out with friends over some drinks and a meal. Review #4893

Really more of a bar than a restaurant but if you need appetizers and an atmosphere in which you can actually talk (unlike most of the rest of the Castro) it's ok. Review #4387
