Nostalgic. Tony's is one of those places that takes you back to a simple time. Also there are not a whole lot of options in the area, so if you're in the hood give them a try. The burgers and onion rings are hot and ready fast. The malted milk shakes are creamy and made with soft serve ice cream. The restaurant is spotless! The cleanest fast food joint ever. I might stop in again for a malted milk shake, it was good! Enjoy. Review #20939

Three reason's I like this place right off the bat. 1.) The owner is working behind the counter. 2.) Lots of parking right off Geary Bvld in there own parking lot. 3.) This place is so CLEAN, I mean freaky type “A” behavior clean, and that works for me 100%. I ordered the chili dog “see photos” and some onion rings. My chili dog tasted really good. The bun was soft & light. The chili was light in viscosity, but not so light that it ran all over the place. The chili was flavorful, and packed with thinly chopped onions and cheese, this was a tasty chili dog. Now this makes me think. Who else serves chili dogs in the city?, because I forgot how much I love them. Eating it was also a pleasure, even-though its served with a fork, I was able to pick it up and just eat it like normal, I like that. The onion rings, were adequate, the breading was a bit too think for my liking. I'll definitely be back to try the other menu items. Review #20938

The place to go, especially for USF students, staff, and alumni. If you eat in, limited seating with a couple of tables outside, but nice place to sit, eat, and do some people watching. Small parking lot on site. Good burgers, plenty of crinkle fries, moderate prices. Also on the menu (take out flyer available) milkshakes, chili cheese fries, fish & chips, and breakfast muffin to name a few. The service is great, the staff attentive especially as they call you when your order is ready! Overall, a nice place, ****/4 stars. Review #14679

It is charming and the service is nice, but with other similar places offering free range/high quality beef, I am not going to make a special trip here. It's an easy switch to make, wish they would do it. Review #10917

It's a greasy spoon...er, grill. Don't go expecting organic, gluten-free miso-dressed spring salads. You load up on burgers, fries and milkshakes. Tony's isn't a place I'd go out of my way for, but I know my husband was sure happy it was across from Kaiser when I was in labor for 87 hours and the nurse wouldn't let him eat any of my jello! What a burger! They load it up and the fries are really good too. This is a great place for that greasy hangover meal. Service is pretty fast, but more of a to go place than a sit down restaurant. Review #10877

I've been afraid to try anything but burgers because of the somewhat unappealing pictures of the alternatives hanging above the counter...but, the burgers are very good and the shakes are a guilty pleasure of mine. Review #8335

That old guy in the window makes my day every time I order up a burger. Burger, fries and a shake, they do it all very well. Review #8207

Definitely a SF landmark of sorts. I actually had a veggie cheeseburger here that was quite good. Fries were good as well. I prefer the burger joints which serve free-range meat however. Why roll the dice with M.C.D. on the horizon? Review #5323

You've passed this Landmark place many times; you have to make a special effort to veer off of Geary to get there. The place has been here forever, the walls and floor prove that! The burgers are good although not the best in town, they have a 1/2lb burger that is huge and drips enough grease for your whole car! Fries are good, and they have turkey burgers if you want better grease in your bloodstream. Lots of stuff like fish and chips, hot dogs etc. Prices are OK , the joint it small so you may have to eat in your car). One of the few old landmarks around town! You can actually get a rare burger here also! The old guy is a refreshing change from the usual in that I can actually understand what he says! Not like the muffled voices from speakerboxes. Or other places. His positive polite and friendly attitude makes you wish that more of his type were in the food service, for that fact any service business! Review #4685
