This is great pizza The crust is crisp and airy, a little charred, and full of flavor. I love the fennel sausage, red onions, roasted pepper pizza washed down with a mexican Coke. Get it to go if you don't like waiting for the few coveted tables inside, or bundle up and sit under the heat lamps outside for excellent people watching. Review #20647

Since Delfina is one of my faves, I knew the pizza place would also be delicious. And, it is! I'm from the East Coast where we really know how to do pizza but Delfina rivals all my favorites back home. Excellent food, excellent service. Review #18537

Nice pizza joint. It's small, so it's going to be crowded, but when I went, my friend and I just sat outside, so we didn't have to wait. The pizza, which is thin crust, was tasty, as was the appetizers we had. The wine we had was either really cheap, or the waitress charged us incorrectly. Review #17893

Wow! What a perfect neighbourhood pizzeria with refined dining options and a wicked crazy wine list that boast the most reasonable italian wines one can possibly get in a restaurant! The $14 Montepulciano is an incredibly smooth wine - and with prices like that, you can put away a bottle without feeling guilty or going broke. I enjoy their starters as much as the pizzas. My favourites are the sardines, tri-color salad, and hand-stretched Mozzarella. The pizzas are well portioned. Not huge but also filling enough that two people can share one and leave satisfied. I believe their most delicious pizza is the homemade sausage. I also like the four cheese. Haven't had the guts to try the clams in white sauce pizza, but it DOES sound very interesting - and not for the faint of heart. I've not had to wait long for a table in the past. I also like the counter seating when there are just two of us. Make sure to save room for dessert, which are yummy. Review #17380

I agree that I don't understand the hype. The pizza is good, but the place is overpriced and expect to wait a long time to be seated if you go at dinner. I would go back if I were in the neighborhood. Review #16597

I had such high hopes when I noticed this place as a more casual, cheaper alternative to Delfina next door (which I really like.). However, it was just a bad experience and I will not go back. With no reservations, we had to wait for over an hour for a table. Once we were seated, we were told that the bottle of wine we had brought could not be opened since they did not allow it even though Destino next door did. Even after, I had hoped the food would be great...but sadly, the pizza was thin and soggy with almost no taste and it was incredibly expensive-$75 for two people with a glass of wine and salad. I would have prefered a slice at a walk up place! Review #15102

When I heard they were opening a pizzeria next door to Delfina I was excited. I waited a while for the crowds to die down a bit and went to check it out on a Friday night. I was very disappointed ! The place was a mad house, it took way too long for the pizza to arrive, and when we got it it was soggy and bland. If you want a really good pizza hop in the car and go to A16, it may be a long drive but it worth it. Review #15019

Tuesday, 5/23/06. I loved my experience at Delfina Pizzeria. The food was delicious, the atmosphere contemporary yet casual, and I guess the service could be described the same way. Brian, our server, was very knowledgable about the menu and described the wines and specialty menu items expertly without condescension. The broccoli rabe and asparagus appetizers were delicious. We had a nightly special pizza with mushrooms on a white sauce which was good but I prefer red sauce pizzas. Despite what others have said, I think the crust is perfect. It's think thin enough but with something to chew on. For dessert we had a canolli (sp.) and a lemon tart. The lemon tart melts in your mouth--the perfect balance between creaminess, tartness from the lemon and textures. Review #14067

I am not sure I understand the hype. The pizza is just ok. It was my first visit so I started with a basic margherita. It was very bland. I don't like the crust. The thin part is rubbery and the edges are thick and flavorless. Now the sides are a different story. The pasta fagioli soup was super and the cannoli was tops. Next problem is the how fast it all adds up. You can really break the bank on a fairly simple meal. I am not real hyped to try it again. Review #12996

Waitress served fresh seasoning at our table. We had Margherita (tomato, basil) pizza - The crust was crispy and chewy but it had no taste except for the 3 leaves of basil on the pizza. We also had Salsiccia (sausage, onions, bell peppers.) I thought the pizza was salty but the sausage had great seasoning. Real thin slices that was impossible to fold the pizza to eat with your hands because it was just sloggy. You definitely need to eat their slices with a fork and knife. I enjoy gourmet pizza if it's not a NYC slice but I'd definitely recommend Little Star pizza over this place. Review #12934

I am not a fan of thin crust pizza since I love bread. But I gotta tried this place because I found the main restaurant next door (Delfina) so amazing. Pizzeria Delfina made me forget about the dough because the toppings were so very fresh, with just the right combination of seasonings. The small, cozy atmosphere also allows you to have a conversation with your companion without having to shout across the table. One of the best eats in the Noe Valley/Mission corridor. Review #12265

this place is great. it is open from lunch all the way thru dinner. they do not close, so often times i will go at 3 in the afternoon. the pizza is thin and flacky, but my absolute favorite is the antipasto and the salad, i would reccommend the beet salad, and the warm marinated olive, and their chicken salad, ask for extra olive oil, and use that to soak up the extra crust from your pizza, they also have a nice montepulciana red wine for 4.00. this is what i call a slice of heaven, pizza from delfina. I was expecting perfection, and was disappointed, but realistically it was still very good. Started with 2 excellent starters/salads. A chickpea salad was surprisingly complex and bright, the yellow beet salad was perfect. 2 glasses of really excellent pinot gris accompanied our clam pie (simple thin crust tomatoe pizza with little neck clams, minimal cheese) which was the main letdown. The pizza was very salty, and the crust had nice texture but zero flavor. I will definitely go back because I have so much faith in Delfina. Review #10431

Fresh ingredients and some fun combos of flavors in pizza pies et. al. make this place a must visit. Plus wines are interesting, atypical italians for not too much cash. The staff is hip, but really nice. I've gone at off hours (late afternoon, early dinner) and so never had to wait. That's my plan of attack henceforth, unless a craving drives me to deal with delayed gratification. Review #10386

small crowded but friendly..very friendly staff, make up for the expensive so so food. 3 people 2 dishes each no wine or beer nearly 100 bucks for essentially pizza!!! Salads- beet salad .GREAT, sadly a few peices of salame and a couple of capers or some mozz with tiny crustini just didnt really rock my world. the pizza were ok nice crispy crusts but skimpy on the toppings. we enjoyed the space enjoyed the staff but between the insane parking situation and to expense.fuh-get-about it. oh well it is nice to sit under the heat lamps outside..that was nice! I've been excited about Delfina Pizzeria since it opened, and finally had a chance to try it out. Unfortunately, I had it to go so I'll have to park my butt inside at some point. The 4 cheese pizza was solid and would have been even tastier straight out of the oven. Even out of the box, it had the makings of a solid pizza. The meatball calzone was excellent filled with tasty yumminess and still piping hot. pizzas are priced well and Delfina Pizzeria might be my new pizza standby besides my pies @ Lulus and Postrios. I will definetly try this again. We grabbed a quattro fromaggio pizza and a meatball calzone to go. THe calzone was pretty decent...filling was fabulous but the crust was pretty mushy/ probably cuz we got it to go. The pizza crust was lovely, relatively thin but still dense and chewy...but the sauce and cheese was flavourless and bland :( so dissapointing. I want to try some other items while dining in and give it another review Review #10313

YUM! There was a long wait last night, but you can order a glass of wine to enjoy on the sidewalk while you wait. The calamari w/chickpeas and zuchinni was refreshing, the warm olives were perfect, and we had the carbonata pizza: pancetta, fontina, leeks, and egg. The egg was surprisingly good on top (I was initially skeptical). Service was a bit harried--it took us 20 minutes to get water, and they were out of most of their wines, but the staff was very pleasant (albeit a bit overwhelmed). Would love to go back. Lovely. Perfect place to sit outside, people watch and enjoy great, fresh, flavorful antipastos. The eggplant and the calamari are great to start with. Nice flavors with nothing too overpowering. Great balance. We enjoyed the fennel sausage pizza with the Tari which is reasonably priced for the taste. Review #8608

Wonderful little italian style antipasti and pizza place. Just a tiny space with a huge oven defining the kitchen, this is the place to get fresh roasted beets, kalamari with chickpeas as antipasti and heavenly pizzas. It's simple fare, but fresh, powerful and feels just like you are in Italy. Highly recommended for lunch. A few tables outdoors are a nice way to drink italian wine on a sunny day and kick it with good food. - mt Review #8459
