“I'd seen this place for a while and one night Wayne and I gave it a go. It's a small casual neighborhood spot that offers japanese food. I was in the mood for sushi, I had the spicy yellow tail and a Godzilla roll. Neither were anything note worthy, not bad just not special. I noticed after we ordered, that everyone else in the place was eating shabu-shabu, which would have been a clue to order the shabu-shabu rather than the sushi. I might consider returning to try the shabu-shabu as it seemed the overwhelmingly popular choice of diners more “in the know” than myself. ”
“I was expecting a nice relaxing japanese dinner, what I got was a loud baseball game on their TV. I realize watching TV while eating dinner is the cat's meow for some people; it's just not for me. Overall my food was enjoyable. My tempura was crisp and light , just like it should be "see photos". The grade of sashimi was definitely satisfactory. My salmon was delicious and the service was prompt, overall I would go back if it weren't for the forced sports. Parking was easy and dinner for two was $50.”
“Went here on a Saturday evening with my best friend. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant so no stress in finding a parking spot which is a great thing. Food was okay for me as I ordered the veggie tempura which was light and crispy & their veggie sushi platter which were the avocado, cucumber & oshinko (yellow radish) maki rolls which we shared which were good. My best friend ordered the Tempura Udon noodles which wasn't so good according to her--tasteless....even soy sauce wouldn't make it taste better. Sad because Udon is such a simple dish to make even getting the noodles @ the Japantown grocery store would've been ALOT better. I don't think we will be back after this experience. Your best bet is to go to Kitaro on 22nd & Geary which has better rolls and prices! ”
“I like this place. There have been a bunch of owners at this location in recent years, but the latest seem to know what they're doing. I hope they stick around for a while. I've eaten here several times, and I usually get the salmon bento. Once the fish was a bit cold, but the other times it's been good. Friends have liked the place too. Service is efficient, not overly friendly, but okay.
