I had the Rigolo pizza which was really special, but the feel of this place is like a crowded dining hall in the dorms. Things are tacky to the touch and it doesn't seem very clean. The second time I went back, I just had a tea and skipped a knosh. The baked goods didn't look very fresh. It's too bad because the food is good. Review #20739

A good place for a casual dinner. Part of the Bay Bread (La Boulange)chain - I recognized the yummy pastries right away . My pulled pork sandwich with a side of beet salad was good and my companion enjoyed her dinner special of pappardelle with a sauce that also contained pork and a side mixed green salad that was perfectly dressed . You place your order at the counter and pleasant servers deliver it to your table. This place seemed particularly family friendly with an area with toys at the back for families with young children and a kids' menu. This is a good spot to grab a bite before attending an event at the nearby Jewish Community Center or a movie at the Vogue cinema. I'll also try it again for lunch if I'm in the area. Review #18298

This little bistro and bakery was very quaint. I liked the chocolate crossant and my friend had the waffles. It was kind of small and little pricey but if you want to splurge on coffee and fresh waffles and flaky baked yummies then this is the place. Review #17676

I ordered a burger and fries. The burger, with ciabatta bread, was tasty, and the fries, coated with parmesan cheese, was extra good. I'd go back just to have the fries. Review #17337

Since I work up the street, this is a great convenience for me. I love the pizza and salads here for a quick lunch. I'll have to branch out and try some of their sandwiches. Review #16092

I work in Laurel Heights and am thrilled to have this as an option. Their burgers are very good (suggest gruyere cheese), fries too. Especially nice out front on the sidewalk on a sunny day. Review #16015

Ordered 2 argula grilled prawn salads to go and was excited to see how they prepared it--not only that but we were hungry! we were disappointed when all we found were wilted argula leaves and 2 small grilled prawns. we were looking at the salad like--this is what we got for $9? what's up with that? will not come here again. A pastry-lover at heart, I skipped the savories at Rigolo. I can say good flaky things, however, about an almond croissant and an apple pastry and an espresso. My friend had some overpriced chowder served with a hunk of baguette and said it was all right, but that she probably wouldn't have it again. Still, I love Laurel Village, and the outdoor sidewalk seating is improved by porch heaters. Rigolo is the neighborhood's biggest cafe (A.G. Ferrari is across the street, but it's a deli-come-gourmet grocer; Peet's is up the block, but with limited seating and fare; Noah's Bagels is nearby, but gross), so make use of its people-watching scene and have yourself a european afternoon of espresso, nibbly things, and some relaxing. But no need to go out of your way to try it. Review #14440

SF magazine raved about this place last year, so we decided to go in for lunch. Ordered the "pizza" (quotations marks intentional). Had some salad, ordered a couple glasses of wine. What's with the pastry-like, filo-dough type, oily croissant "pizza" crust? I'm italian, pizza is italian - pizza is NOT made with croissant dough! Somebody's misguided invention. Okay the toppings are good quality ingredients, but goat cheese and sweet fresh herbs on a croissant dough? Stop it - Now! Come here to buy a loaf of bread, it is good. Sit, have a salad & a glass of wine. Tell them to start making real pizza, then you'll order one. Review #13808

had lunch here on a Saturday. Very crowded but the wait was not so bad. My friend and I both ordered the Croque Madame, which was very tasty, tho a bit greasy. He had an apple tart for dessert, which I tasted. Good but not sensational. I got a kick out of seeing lots of little kids with their dads taking them out. Nice! Apparently a popular place to bring kids. Review #12618

If any of you have been to a La Madeleine in Dallas/ Ft Worth, rigolo's is a bit like that- it's a bistro-like place, but they also have a bakery. you order at the counter and then they bring it to the table. some salad's (green or fruit) and sandwhiches, pizzas. interesting variety of them and they're well made. little pricey, but it was laurel heights. i would go back.
