“ Even after we finished lunch there, I just can't believe Rotunda on top of Neiman Marcus can serve really fine f%d over & beyond most other shopper cafes. D free hot chicken consomme, popovers & strawberry butter were a warm hello from d kitchen. A great way to rev up appetite. My sage polenta cake ($22) l%ked like a delicacy, with chanterelles sauteed in a divine sauce on top of browned polenta cake. D polenta had an intricate silky texture, & when eaten w/ d mushr%ms, delighted all my tastebuds. Mama mia! Her lobster spring rolls ($18) came in 4 half-pieces w/ ponzu dip & petite salad. D fillings tasted succulent, despite a thick wrap. Personally I would prefer d thinner Philippine lumpia wrap. Cappuccino was strong & served hot. 1st class service thru'out. Dis place has semi-palatial ambience, w/ lots of curves & some view of Union Sq on 1 side. What a special place! If they turn it into a stand alone restaurant & keep open after 5 for dinner, I'll be 1st to sign up. :-) 2009! ”

“ I went to a wedding and sit down dinner here. The food was very good, I had filet mignon. The ambiance is beautiful and the view is great. I think it would be a fun lunch spot.

“ I haven't eaten here for almost 20 years and they still start lunch with a tasty, huge popover and clear, savory broth. The popover and broth are served systematically. On the menu we both ordered the pasta with seafood which was delicious. Pasta (penne) was al dente with lots of fresh shellfish; plump mussels, shrimp, scallops... We both had a nice flute of champagne... And an espresso to finish. With tip it came to a few dollars under $100. So yes, it is a bit pricey. But then again we did have a glass of bubbly. Alas, the trials and tribulations of dining with a blue eyed frenchman. The service is superb and the food is good. We lucked out and didn't have to wait for a table. But many a time there is a deadly wait. Hence the reason I haven't been in 20 years... Yes, it is primarily for ladies who lunch :D... I went with Mom 20 years ago but this time I went with hubby and it was just as nice ; ) ”

“ Went there during the tea time and got the window seat. Not all the pastries are good but the tea is fantastic. It's nice to stop by this place after that long walk in the shopping mall.

“ Great place to take Mom for lunch - very "ladies who lunch" feel...definitely pricey but fun for people watching, excellent lobster bisque and great to have a glass of wine and relax in the middle of a long shopping day. ”

“ A fun hidden gem in Union Square inside NM. The tables by the window give you an excellent view of the Union Square shopping frenzy, and the food is good. I've tried a bunch of their apps and snacks, and they are all on the small side, but a good stop in the heart of Union Square. ”

“ i'm not sure about their regular food, but i really liked the tea time there (every day from 2:30-5PM). they don't give you much food, so be sure to have eaten something prior if you do decide to come for tea time. they're not very good at honoring your reservation time, so you have to keep hounding them. and having a reservation does not guarantee you a window seat, which could take even longer! but i enjoyed the pastries and mini-sandwiches, and they have a good selection of teas. some pastries were scones, cucumber sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, smoked salmon sandwiches, mini muffins, etc. not quite as good as tea time in hong kong, but it's a very unfair comparison (you must go to mandarin oriental or peninsula hotel if you're in hong kong and a fan of tea time). ”
