“ We went last night for a last minute birthday celebration. With only an hour an a half notice we were able to get a table for seven on a Friday night. They gave us the best table in the house in my opinion, right above the bar next to the windows, AMAZING view! The service was so so, we had to ask for bread and water and this wasn't until our salad course. Between the seven of us we sampled a bunch of dishes, the sole and the cioppino won our vote, the prawns and scallops were really good but portion size was far to small. We tried the crab cakes per everyones recommendation here and we really did enjoy them. We all had hankerings for mojitos earlier in the day but when we arrived the bartender only enough mint for one, so of course that went to the birthday girl. There's certainly some other fun concoctions on the cocktails list and I was happy enough with the wine selection. All in all a good experience. ”

“
AVOID!!
Shocking attitude of staff. They start clearing restaurant and bar at 9.00pm, making it impossible to stay and have dessert, coffee or drinks, (don't they want our money??) and don't even think that they'll bother trying to get you a cab! ”

“ A former coworker of mine and I lunched here with our former boss who suddenly realized she needed to take the temperature of her staff, as does happen when you're way off budget, and no longer able to get by on just your charm with the higher-ups at Corporate. It was one of those awkward and agonizing two hour excursions that was not going to change the inevitable housecleaning that would later ensue, and it was not made better with drinks, because we still had work to do, and she had a happy hour to get to afterward. We sat in the 'outdoor' section, which exuded all the charm of a catering tent, since it was after all, a catering tent. The caesar salad and iced-tea were both excellent. Service was appropriately polished and unremarkable.

“ Waterfront Restaurant & Cafe, with us
I took my gf to this restaurant for her 25th birthday and it was WAY beyond my expectations. The food came out fairly promptly (for a friday night dinner at 6:30pm). I had the tuna and she had a steak. Both out dishes were excellent, and garnished well. The desserts were very good, we shared a chocolate cake (fluorless) which was soooo rich and good, and only about $8 - for a good sized slice. Overall the views of the restaurant were very good, with the bay bridge and the embarcadero buildings just steps away. Parking is provided by the Waterfront for a small fee ( less than $6). Highly recommended ”

“ The awesome food/drinks/service combined with the amazing view of the Bay Bridge will make you want to return again soon. Crab cakes are worth writing home about. Great for dinner with a view or Sunday brunch. One of the best ways to enjoy the Embarcadero area. ”

“ Came here for lunch with co-workers one day. We sat outside which was beautiful. I had the best fish (sole, I think), they even fileted it for me when I balked because it came with skin (I'm a seafood newbie). The waiter was great, very friendly. He kept adjusting our umbrella for us based on the sun position. ”

“ My friends and I once came here and sat on the patio for lunch. We had such a great time and the view was so wonderful that we were still there at dinner time. Lovely location. Good food. ”

“ My friend brought me here because of the outdoor patio seating. The view was spectacular and the enclosed outdoor area protects us from the wind. My friend had some type of crab sandwich and I was very impressed with the flavor. I had a chicken sandwich and I was very pleased, but I think it was the view I liked the most. ”

“ Have had multiple lunches and dinners here with friends, co-workers, clients, and potential employers. Always impresses the ones who haven't discovered it yet. Good food, good service. Very nice views and ambiance. Nice bar with attentive bartender. Prices are reasonable given the locale and quality. Love the upstairs room. ”

“ comments
I have been here twice in the last few weeks. Both times, it has been a nice experience. I had a very good Crab Louie the first time with a mountain of delicious fresh crab on it and the dressing was excellent. The next time I had a good chicken breast sandwich preceded by a wonderful appetizer of hot goat cheese wrapped in crisp prosciutto and with a nice basil sauce dribbled on the plate. They do a wicked gin martini! Service was good and pleasant. Update as of Feb 2006. Went again with one of my best friends and her daughter. The crab louie was wonderful! Waiter very nice, but someone tell the hostess to sweeten up, ok? The view is great.
