Last month, I went there a couple of times. The first time, we had a chocolate crepe and large serving of fries. The crepe was good but the fries was not crispy. The dripping sauces were great. The second time, the fries were crispier and this time, I had a 5 sauces which were all good. Plus, you can beat a place that also serve belgian beers. Review #19851

Had a yummy Basquiat sandwich and fries here with an ice cold Chimay. The Chipotle Remoulade dip is really good. Another one that was tasty was like a black pepper ranch dip. They let us bring our little dog in the back garden seating area which was nice of them. Review #19507

After hearing great things, I finally went here with a friend and was greatly disappointed. The fries were well just okay. A bit greasy and definitely over priced. The sauce was flavored Mayo. Mayo is one of those phenomenally bad for you but wonderfully yummy condiments. So you can't go too wrong with that, but most people no doubt could doctor up some flavored Mayo at home for equal effect. The salad I had was boring. It wasn't bad, just pretty tiny for the price. I was still hungry since I didn't bother eating the thin, bland sliced small rounds of french bread that accompanied it. A taste of my friend's crepe proved it equally a matter of one of their Mayo sauces carrying a punch, but the crepe was thin and doughy and the chicken inside meager. The places had character but long waits and they need to improve the clean factor. I think I'll stick with belgian waffles. Review #14410

The fries here are very good...tender on the inside, crispy on the outside. And you get a choice of ketchup's and dips. Also, they have good beer and decent crepes. Review #14016

Another place I'd always heard about and was very excited to finally go to. Ultimately, though, I was disappointed. The fries were just so-so and the menu was somewhat appealing but so overpriced that I couldn't justify ordering anything else. The only reason the review isn't negative is because the atmosphere is great. I could definitely see myself ordering a few coffees or beers and hanging out there for an afternoon. Review #12523

The crepes are small but very tasty and interesting. I'm not into fries (belgium or otherwise). I love the small cozy space, excellent trippy club sounds, the small backyard and the excellent staff. Great spot to stop in the middle of the day or in the evening. It can have a weird smell at time due to the small and poorly ventilated space. Eat for under $10. Review #12253

I live across the street from this place and really go there for one of two things. Fries and occasionally a cup of coffee. Their Fritz (fries) come in two sizes, I usally get the large which also gets choice of two dipping sauces, I love the ginger orange mayo... I had a crepe once, just not my style. The downside of this place and I mean DOWNSIDE, the one cashier gets everything (except the actually cooking) so if there are three people in line expect the line not to move for 15 minutes. The cashier is making the coffee, pouring the beer, mixing this putting that... its just too long. Especially if your waiting for a to go cup of coffee. Frustrating. Many time I order by phone some fritz and show up in 5 minutes and cut the line asking politely: "Is my order for Fritz to go, ready?" :) Review #12236

Fries weren't as crispy as true dutch/belgium/french fries are. Had a crepe as well...kinda made me nauseous after eating it. I liked the decor, though, and they had some nice loungy beats thumping in the background. Probably won't go back but give it a shot if you're in the Hayes Valley Hood. Review #11266

while i liked the dipping sauces (what's not to like about flavored mayonaise?) i was not so happy with the fries. they were limp for the most part, and i thought overpriced, as were the sauces. but the sandwich was decent. it took a while to get, though. they had a long line that moved slowly. i doubt i'll go back. It's a cool place to hang out, with a cozy indoor area and back patio. It's more about the ambience than the food, though. The crepes and sandwiches I've had here have been pretty bland. The fries are okay, but it's the dipping sauces that make them tasty. It's a good place to hang out, drink some coffee/beer with a few friends or a casual date. Review #9277

Fries were only ok. Some of the dipping sauces were very innovative, others bleh. Cesar in Berkeley does the best fries in the Bay Area and Ti Couz in the Mission does the best crepes, Frjtz just can't compare. I really like DJ Frjtz who spins on the weekend though. Review #8625

I didn't think these were authentic, and marketing them upmarket as the feature item at a restaurant is bizarre; in Holland, this is fast junk food (and I lived there for 2 years). The sauces have been adjusted to Bay Area palates (wasabi mayo? Where's the frittesaus and pindasaus?!), and the fries, when I got them, tasted a bit funny (old oil? cooked too long? not sure). Nice setting, though. Review #7810

I used to live a block from this restaurant, was pissed when the russian Tea Room closed down, I want on vacation for two weeks, and when I came back it was gone. The crapes are good, nice variety of them, fresh and filling. But I don't like their Fritzs they are weird, it is hard to describe the taste and there is always a bad smell in the place. Review #7622

Must have sauces: pesto mayo, curry ketchup (these 2 seems to find their way into most every order I get here...)roated pepper mayo and the chipotle remoulade. not being a general fan of mustard, I would say this is good (but it's probably amazing, just I usually hate mustard! the fact I can stomach this must make it kind of special!). I tried the wasabi mayo once, think it was good, but I was drunk at the time so I don't really remember! try to snag the cute little enclosed nook in the restaurant if on a date! Review #7168

My girlfriend always yells out, "de Frjtz, de Frjtz!" whenever we come here because it is a bit of a fantasy fulfilled to get their fries. You get a choice of 1-2 dips; I always get (and recommend), the delicious wasabi mayo with my fries, which, by the way, are served piping hot in a paper cone. Frjtz has both sweet and savory crepes, which are a little crispy for my taste, but flavorful. They have beer and a million italian sodas, which are fun. For seating, try to grab one of the little enclaves inside the cafe, or a table in the garden out back, which is really lovely, (when it's not too cold), if you want to hear who you're with. Cheers! When eating here, make sure you get a seat at the back garden. The enclosed part of the restaurant gets too crowded and noisy. If you are a fan of crepes and french fries, then you will love this place. I almost always order the Kandinsky (sweet with strawberries and nutella). The fries were ok, make sure get garlic on top and get the honey mustard dip! It's inexpensive and delicious, what more can you ask for. After eating you should walk around the Hayes Valley area and do a little damage to your wallet. Review #6407

Good sandwiches, although a little pricey for what you get. What kills me is the menu lists all of these great dipping sauces for the fries, but then you can only pick one without paying extra. And the amount of dipping sauce they give you for an order of fries is no where near enough. Review #4591

I love this place. Those fries and the many flavored Mayo sauces...yum. And the beer, well it's belgian so it's strong and delicious. Finding a table at the weekends at brunch rush hour can be a challenge but there is decent turnover so you'll get a spot with a small wait. I've not tried their sister restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf so that's on the list for some Saturday or Sunday morning...or afternoon more like. Review #3387

I loved the atmosphere here, like the back patio seating and the little fluffy pillow nook to sit in. I tried their crepes and I'll have to say it was average. I love crepes and I get disappointed if there is not enough chocolate or nutella in my crepe. One good thing is the crepe was not over cooked. This is so common with crepe places. Review #1580
