I enjoyed a yummy salad from here and my friend had a Niman Burger. All the food was cooked very well. Once you figure out the ordering system, its really a good place. After order, we hung out right at Noe and Market and enjoyed a sunny San Francisco Saturday afternoon. Review #20115

had the ham & cheese sammie---roll was dry filling was flavourless and minimal. The corn chowder that came with it was watery and bland. The chicken liver pate we shared for an app was OK. The Sangria we ordered was fairly awful....and YES there is such thing as white Sangria...so not sure why you laughed at us when we asked if you served it. Pluses: patio seating Minuses: everything else :0) Won't be back Review #19938

I've been going to this place for over ten years now. I always leave with a "why did I go there AGAIN feeling". Probably location has a lot to do with it, my "friends" always want to go there, and also they have pretty good food. However, I hate the two different lines you have to go to for food or drinks and it's always very cramped with people bumping into each other. Also, if you decide you want coffee/drink refills you have to go to the back of the line....so make sure you stock up before you get you food. The staff there is pretty ambivalent about their customers too. Review #17373

The food is fine, but the outdoor seating is the best. Great place to read the Sunday paper. I wouldn't recommend the outside seating for people who hate smoke. The tables are packed pretty tight and that's definitely one of the appeals of the place. Review #16988

"The best cafe in the neighborhood and now they have hard liquor. I love going there in the day time when it is warm in the city. My favorite food the burger with a Pear Cider or just having plane eggs with hash and fruit. The patio is a big plus and since I am a smoker quite convenient to light up and read a current issue of W or Vanity Fair that I usually pick up from Tower Records next door." Review #15751

Awesome patio space... the perfect place to spend some time on a beautiful day. It gets a bit cramped, but it's worth it. I had a nice, simple burger, and it was tasty. Once again, though, the key is the sunny patio -- something all too rare in this fine city. Review #15091

This is one of my favorite restaurants to visit for outdoor seating and people watching. The ordering set-up is a bit strange, you order the food at the kitchen, then order your drinks at the bar, paying separately. The hamburgers are good, with lots of cheese. My only complaint is that they don't serve french fries! Great salads make up for that though. Review #14940

Not too bad. Good menu choices; odd ordering dynamic considering the slightly posh atmosphere (you get drinks and food separately, and then sit down with a number and they bring it out). It made for a nice after dinner drink with a friend-- Review #14639

husband and I had a brunch here before trudging around to open houses. For a split second we were a little confused since it's not your typical set up. you order your meal at the kitchen and than you sit and than they bring it out. The food was good. The oatmeal was so yummy as was the fruit bowl my husband ordered. The waiter was very friendly. I found it a little annoying that I had to order the food from one place and the drink from the coffee bar. Especially since it was packed and hard to be trotting around. In response to the person who said parking sucks... there is a parking garage like 100 feet down on Noe. Review #13146

I'm conflicted. I fell in love with this place nearly twenty years ago when it was truly an eclectic mix in the center of SF. It is a great space with indoor and outdoor tables and now sidewalk ones as well. I miss the brothers who opened it more than two decades ago and recently sold it. The menu is tasty, pricey (for what one gets) and limited. I would recommend the fritatas and the hamburger. They have good house coffee. The desserts have never been worth it with Sweet I across the street. I like the new crew, but the "new" crowd is dubious at best. Everything changes... Review #11728

One of the few places to go on a nice day and sit outside. Seems like it should be better than it is given the nice location/patio. Food is basic and sometimes not that great, but good for a coffee and pastry/bagel. Staff is really nice. Indoor seating is not so comfortable. Review #10738

I hadn't been to cafe flore in over a decade. The sceney weekend brunch thing was not to my liking when on a visit to SF and frankly the place hadn't interested me since moving to the neighborhood six months ago. I was on my own for dinner tonite, it was cold and I didn't want to wander too far. The place wasn't very busy. I had a tasty if not terribly exciting roast chicken with mashed potatoes. The bar staff was very friendly, they have free wireless and what do you know I had my laptop with me so I lingered for some really delicious hot chocolate and web surfing. I am still not interested in battling for brunch here, but tonite was really cozy and pleasant. Review #9913

GREAT, cozy place, decent cafe menu, but *don't* make the mistake of ordering food here. It's atrocious, and overpriced. Just order a latte, have a cookie, flirt, and then go to any of the nearby places afterwards for a bite to eat. Review #7737

I love the casualness of this place. Perfect for outdoor dining on sunny day. Go just to get a coffee drink and catch up with a girl friend, or have a meal. The food feels home cooked- just like my momma used to make. Just so you aren't confused: yes there are two separate lines, and you have to stand in each. But then they'll bring your food to your table. Review #3244

Yes, everyone has to go here. It is not about the food or staff now that Mahmoud is gone. It is about people-watching (and eaves-dropping and doggie-droppings) but I've noticed that it is just plain friendly too. One of the few places in the Castro where patrons seem genuine and not on guard. I have gone there for the last 20 years and that's never changed. What's up with the Absolut bottle!!!! Review #3215

I really don't get it. The place is nicely decorated, but the food is very very average. It's definitely a see & be seen spot, but why waste your time? Plus, you might as well forget it if you have to go top the bathroom - always a line. Review #2989

I go to Flore for coffee and to sit outside. I've eaten there several times, but never crave the food. It is a fun but busy place in a sunny, festive part of the city. The only issue with the sidewalk tables is that lots of dog owners relish the euro,dog- friendly style, but their pups are all-American and get up in each others' business. It can feel a little like having coffee in a loud dog park on Sunday afternoons. It is, then, a good stop for dog owners. Review #2504

This is a great place to see and be seen. It is really the social center of the Castro. The expanded outdoor seating provides one of the nicest places in the city to hang out and feel part of the 'scene'. The food is nothing special but the staff is friendly and it is great for hanging out alone or with friends. Review #2102

This is one of my favorite neighborhood coffee shops. Come for a coffee and baked good, sit in the sun and people watch or catch up with an old friend, or get a well priced meal at the adjoining kitchen. Though the small space and popularity can make it feel a bit squished, it's part of the charm. The restroom however, is overdue for it's makeover. Review #1466
