“
This restaurant is overrated! I went with a party of 12 people and they added a 25% tip which they claimed was their policy for more than 6 guests. The staff was not pleasant. We had to ask for bread, the soup was cold and the main course was a disappointment. The menu was spare as well. Don't bother with Clementine. ”

“ I think I have found my new favorite bistro. Food just doesn't get better than this. I let go of any and all inhibitions (which I don't have much to begin with) and ate and drink like it was my last meal. I repeatedly stood up, leaned across the table, and swooped in on my dinner companions' food despite the candle fire burning my arm and other dinners looking on with disapproval. The staff's level of professionalism equal that of the staff at Lumiere in Canada, and that's saying A LOT. And the french toast dessert is nothing short of amazing.

“ I was lured by good reviews for this restaurant. To my disappointment, the food did not live up to its expectation. The food was at best mediocore. We started with the salmon and tuna tartar and there was very little tuna. I expected the salmon to be sushi-grade but was actually smoked salmon. The tuna was also not sushi-grade.
For my entree, I ordered the ribeye steak with green peppercorn sauce. I expected a green, peppercorn sauce but instead I got Salisbury (brown) sauce with a slice of garlic butter. I ordered my steak medium-rare but because the steak was so thinly-sliced, it was more like medium-well. My steak looked more like a frozen food dinner platter; it literally did cuz there was no garnishment whatsover. My sister ordered the Ahi-Tuna and it looked like it was seared at low flame instead of high flame. ”

“ I felt as if I were back in Paris. I had never had foie gras in a pate form before, and it was not bad. I still like it in the actual liver form. Tuna tartar a bit too mayo based for me. However the scallops were cooked perfectly and in a delicious butter sauce w/ lobster risotto. Halibut was amazing. They also have a blood orange vodka dessert. Yummy.

“ Clementine makes me feel rich. The interior is so refined and would definitely impress a date. Go early on a weekday to make the most of the $25 three-course pre fixe, and be sure to order the french toast in caramel for dessert. Our server treated us like royalty, although at the end of the meal, slinking down to our actual class, he brought us two petite glasses of cosmos: "Someone ordered a cosmo and the bartender made too much. Here. Try it." The exterior is shaded by low-branched tress, so it's easy to pass Clementine unnoticed, but definitely take the time to find it -- and order that french toast! ”

“ The desserts are craa-zy! Try the Floating Island. Although I'd watch out if I had a large party of 8 or more there. They charged a huge service fee (tip) and we were really pissed off. But the food did make it worth fighting over the bill. The service was also quite good. Not too pretentious, and very professional. Good, solid french restaurant. ”

“ This is probably my favorite french restaurant in the city. Every time I have been there the service has been gracious and the food delectable. The portions may be a tad skimpy, but that's my only complaint. Look for a very nice bowl of steamed mussels among the appetizers.

“ Chase away your inclement blues at Clement's Charming Clementine, San Francisco's french bistrot par excellence, a touch of joie de vivre in the Richmond. Old fashioned french restaurant radiating french old world charm and delicious french cuisine, a french restaurant you still could find hidden in Paris tucked along Boulevard St. Germain des Pres or in The Marais. Clementine's Chef Didier Labbe, once sous-chef at L'Arpege, creates appealing and satisfying cuisine, enormously popular with Richmond locals without needing cutting edge provocation. Entire menu is wonderfully delicious including fabulous escargots de bourgogne, delectable garlic parsley butter snails baked in a deep dish like you'd find in Lyon, delectable mussels steamed in white-cream, tarragon vermouth, destination ultra gamey and delicious lamb chops, state-of-the-art magret duck breast with a butter bernaise. Well chosen wine list and desserts bring the joyful comfort of home french cooking to Clement.

“ The food at this restaurant is very french and very good too. We started off the evening with some appetizers. I had the Ravioli's which were excellent and had a delicious sauce that was sopped up with some handy french bread. My wife had a crab and shrimp salad that she really enjoyed. My entree was a special of the night - Filet Mignon - and it was fabulous! It was served with Au Gratin potatoes and some vegetables all of which were excellent. Lamb Chops were my wife's choice and they were also outstanding. Done just right and very tasty. She had some nicely prepared spinach with her meal. For dessert I ordered a Mouse of some sort that was frankly pretty tasteless. My wife had had the french Toast here before and she ordered that again and it was delicious - yes I stole a bite or two of it. Service throughout the evening was exemplary. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but with the exception of my dessert the food was definitely worth it. ”

“ Clementine is where you go when you need a real taste of France. It is melt in the mouth, oh THIS is what they are talking about when they praise french food place. They have a great-3 course prix-fix Tues-Thurs for $24.00, wonderful value for sublime food ”
