“
This is the spot for fresh udon. Go elsewhere for sushi. Soba too soggy but will cut it if you just want to fill a craving. I prefer Mifune over the two restaurants on either side because of better value and longer menu.

“
I like to go to this place when I'm in Japantown and in the mood for noodles. The prices are so inexpensive. The service varies - I've had either really great service or really poor service. But I figure the food is cheap so I don't care as much! ”

“ Yummy homemade thick udon. Am a fan if I'm around the J-Town area but would rather have Hotei any day - Mifune's broths are way too salty for me and they don't really add the nice veggie additions that Hotei does. ”

“ Been going here regularly for years. For me, the chicken and egg udon is my ultimate comfort food, and you'll find me huddled in one of their booths on a cold rainy day. I dig their tempura as well, nicely battered (crisp v. soggy/thick). The beef and egg donburi is flavorful and just downright exquisite (I prefer to order extra donburi sauce with it) -- and the katsu-don is equally as gorgeous. The cold soba is an excellent pick for a hot indian summer afternoon. The service has never been that great, they habitually neglect to fill your teacup, and their presence is more or less gloomy. But I get over it for the sake of homemade udon. ”

“ I've gone here several times and I could see that the food here is consistent. I have had the Ramen Noodles here and it was great. Noodles were not over cooked which makes a huge difference. I also get the Curry over rice. It is nice and thick just like mom used to make!

“ One of the few places to get cold buckwheat Soba noodles on a hot day! They also make good curry noodles. Service is usually quick, so it's a good place to stop and get a quick bite to eat.

“ Yummy noodles! I love the Mifune Special, but I wish it came in that boat thingy like the kiddie meals do...it's just so dang cute. The prices are reasonable, and the food is good...not awesome...
I'm a regular. If you want to stalk me, start here. ”

“ I usually just get the chicken or vegetable udon with perhaps something on the side, but the food is usually pretty good. The prices aren't bad at all, but the service could be a lot better. Unfriendly servers will begrudgingly take your order, maybe fill your water once, and will probably not get everyone's food to the table within five minutes of each other. Having said this, I still go back when I want cheap eats and don't care about who gives it to me... ”

“ Great place to take young kids, people from the mid-West, and friends for quick, decent noodles. Mifune was a staple for us when we had a babe-in-arms. Go early (5ish) and it's just other parents with young kids. Well behaved kids, usually. I digress. The noodles and udon here are better than at the chain shops (like Long Life) and I found the staff to be much nicer and attentive as well. The presentation is always pleasing. Don't expect red carpet treatment or Fleur de Lys plating...and you should be satisfied. ”

“ This was my first noodle shop experience and I just don’t get it. You get these cold noodles and you dip them into this sauce that has very little flavor besides the wasabi. Maybe I did it wrong or just ordered wrong. I feel like I’m missing out on something good but I just don’t get it. The tempura that came on the side was okay but again the sauce was very bland. The service seemed really unhappy, maybe they don’t get it either. If you read this and have any noodle words of wisdom send me a message. ”

“ this place is 1) good for the price 2) as authentic as one can get in japantown and 3) has a nice variety of things that I have not seen outside of japan done pretty well. i go back every once in a while with fellow ex-Japan inhabitants and we are always pretty happy - and not much lighter in the wallet! ”

“ geez, I hate to be the only dissenting opinion. I found the noodles here to be very average. My friend's teriyaki chicken was nothing special either. But you sure get lots of food for not very much money. ”

“ We got to sit "outisde" in the atrium because there wasn't any seating left but the experience was a fun people-watching experience. Good food and inexpensive. ”

“ 2 locations inside the center I suppose this is about the first...long lines bad service great noodles and the usual sides,,I prefer the one in the other building as the service is better and its less crowded. ”
