“ This place has the dank sausage.
Enjoy your favorite while tossing back a killer barley wine at Toronado next door while being belittled by their friendly wait staff! ”

“
I'm currently vegetarian, but this place smells SOOOO GOOD that when I start eating meat again I'm breaking the fast here. A bunch of my friends are addicted to the different sausages on the menu, and rave about them.
They have a vegan dog that is pretty good, but the toppings -- the saurkraut, the curry ketchup, the peppers -- they make it a great trip. And the people that work there are great. ”

“
I guess here's another rave review for this place. As you can see everyone loves it. The place is very lower haightish with it's hole in the wall appeal and the sausages are soooo good! Please, I beg of you, do not forget the hot peppers! It's the icing on their hotdog cake... oh, you know what I mean. Love ya! ”

“
Two words: chicken cherry. I get it with the hot peppers, it burns my lips, but I can't stop eating it. Sooo gooood. Mad Dog won't let you in anymore as they now serve food. Or at least last time I went. ”

“ My advice is go there on Tuesday sometime between 11am-2pm... they sell Niman Ranch beef cheeseburgers for $5.50, and they are way delicious and huge. Plus, they will make is pretty rare if that's what you ask for. They will sell out by 2-2:30ish and there will be a line, but the best part is that you can hang out at Toronado next door and have some beers while you wait for your burger.

“ what can i say? if you are in the mood to get your carnivore on,l this is the joint. My faves are the duck and figs, wild boar with spiced apples, and of course good ol' bratwurst. Nothing fancy, just good straightforward food with sweet peppers, hot peppers and grilled onions. sorry for veggie heads, the vegetarian dog is so-so. better to grab a sandwich next door at LOVE N HAIGHT.

“ Good sausages but on Tuesday's, they add a hamburger to the menu and it is VERY GOOD. I love eating burgers, so I was excited to try this. The burger was juicy, nice spiced meat patty served on a perfect onion-roll bun, with sauteed onions and cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc. Loved it! ”

“ The fact that one can place a to-go order for the bar next door is truly what makes Rosamunde such a fantastic Haight haunt, and a perfect companion to neighborhood bar, Toronado. I am not an eater-of-swine, yet had a great selection of snausage, from roasted duck to spicy lamb and beef to lamb with sundried tomatoes. They are very generous with their servings of toppings as well, which include grilled onions, peppers, and chili. Watch for grease, but it comes with the snausage territory. Pros: TASTY, Abundance of toppings, Bargain, Friendly staff. Cons: Forget about parking. ”

“ Yeah, like everyone else has said, this place is a great spot to mow on a dog. Although Tuesday is the best day to go b/c of the burger option. The owner makes a burger that will rival any in the city. It takes about 30 minutes to get it made but it's well worth the wait. Have a sausage appetizer while you wait! ”

“ Wow a great sausage. They should call the place jeff's weiner or jeff's little hot dog. The food is great and owner and staff are superb with their demeanor.A solid A++ from the king of Pork. ”

“ As mentioned by one other reviewer (so far) the curry ketchup is worth a try. I like to keep it simple with the curry ketchup and dijon only - no other toppings. Everyone is going to have their favorite sausage, so there's little point in recommending a specific kind, as they are all tasty.
I can not recommend highly enough, however, to take your sausage next door to wash it down with a beer. If you don't feel like a beer, try a Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda, sold at Rosamundo - you'll be pleasantly surprised at the taste. ”

“ I LOVE Rosamunde.
The selection of sausages is above and beyod. Never been? Here's the deal: Pick a sausage from the gourmet list (see other reviews), pick two free toppings from beef chili, onions, sweet and hot peppers, or kraut. Ketchup and specialty mustards (like wasabi mustard) are also available at no charge.
The sausage is grilled in about 5 minutes, and your sweet french roll is toasted on the grill too. $4 for most dogs.
Even the vegans are happy: Tofurky. ”

“ Yummmmm! The staff is efficient & friendly. The sausages are great. (Beer sausage is my favorite.) It's a tasty, inexpensive meail. I can eat a lot & a sausage (w/ hot & sweet peppers), pickle, & drink will fill you up. (Ok... maybe chips too on occassion.) ”

“ I'm partial to cinghiale (wild boar), so I'll have it whenever it's offered. I also like sausages! I had the boar sausage with hot peppers - excellent. I would prefer slightly chewier, less "bready" bread, but hey, who's complaining about a $4 sausage? ”

“ Best sausages in the city. You can select from over a dozen varieties and customize it with some great toppings and condiments. They have a good selection of quality boutique sodas, or you can go next door for a beer. Great german potatoe salad too. This place is a real winner. ”

“ An amazing selection is offered by this fast, fresh and friendly spot. You can eat in the windows or take out. The bratwurst bursts at the bite and is quite flavorful. The wild boar is delicious, as are the lamb sausages. Anything that says it's spicy is. Depending on the type of meat you choose, the links will either be big and fat, or long and thin. If you get the thin ones, you will be served two links in one fresh bun.
Take advantage of the toppings--they're delicious. Also, the giant pickles are a great side--and only a dollar! ”

“ As usual when I find a parking space close to an interesting looking joint, I’ll take advantage of it. This time it was the Rosamunde Grill that won my parking space roulette! I was pleasantly surprise by the price! We got two hot dogs, one kielbasa and one knockwurst, fresh, plump and juicy! The price was as good as the fresh ingredients that we smeared on top. Fresh onions and kraut with mustards guaranteed drips on to the floor that escaped the paper provided to recycle the goodies. Lunch for two was less than 14 bucks, including drinks and some chips. This is so nice, since there are too many places that would have charged 5 bucks for a dog on a stale bun! Too bad this place doesn’t have a parking lot with about 30 spaces in it. It would have a line out the door then for sure! A definite return, (if there is a parking spot close!). ”

“ Definitely an ole standby! One of two "Best Cheap Date" nights. A great sausage served by nice people. Try the Wild Boar and Chutney - ohmigawd is it good! Then head next door (where they are happy to let you take your plastic tray) to the Toronado for a great bier (where they are happy to take your tray back to Rosamunde). P.S. Don't tell anyone I told you about this GREAT Cheap Date night, it's a secret! ”
