“ The jerk that gave me such an initial bad experience no longer works there, and I am now somewhat of a regular at this place. If you're tired of drippy cream cheese oozing out of all sides of your Noah's bagel, then this is the place to go. The nova shmear is packed with fish and stands up quite well in high temperatures. Though I'm not crazy about the idea of bagels being shipped in, I've gotta admit they're really good. Other items which get high ratings with me include the chopped liver sandwich, sweet and sour cabbage soup, and the chocolate babka. This is the closest thing San Francisco has to a REAL east coast deli, though I wish they would include more kosher items. For you parents, this place is kid-friendly, and there's lots of little things for the munchkins to gnaw on... ”

“ Great place for lunch; wide section of sandwiches, salads, toasted hoagies; definitely an east coast style. I recommend the Chicken Philly with mushrooms or the baked salmon salad. ”

“
This is a decent deli for the city. Its a bit on the expensive side, but the samichez are hearty. I don't recommend this place if you're lookin for a light snack, but it makes a suitable replacement Thanksgiving meal. Oh, and stick with the potato salad. ”

“ A great deli spot in the bay area! I tried the hot pastrami and it was stack HIGH and was sliced paper thin and melts in my mouth. I'm craving for it now while writing bout it! Get some fries that are shoestring and crispy and you'll be set. ”

“ Can't really go wrong here. I've been looking for a good deli since I lived in NY years ago. Been trying to match katz deli and 2nd Ave deli from NY. It's been very hard. I really dig the pastrami and corned beef at this place. The matzo ball soup is also good. I kinda feel like I'm back east when I go here. This is definitly my second favorite deli in CA. Canter's in L.A. is my first choice. ”

“ Give me a pickle and I'm happy. I stopped for lunch, the service was good, the food was great. I had the Rachel, like a Reuben but with Pastrami. I'll be back. ”

“ corned & matzo-ball soup...moist meatloaf and crispy fries, usually I take out, but the china and atmosphere isn't bad too. It's like no other deli, something right out of NYC. ”

“ This place has got to be one of the BEST deli's I've ever been to! Coming from a CA & bay area native, that's saying a lot!
Anytime I'm in SF (weekly), I try to stop by this place for either the turkey dinner (w/all the fixin's) or one of the toasted sandwiches w/melted cheese (yum!).
The prices are a steal for the serving sizes & quality. A definite must if you love real deli style food! ”

“ This is just the place that SF needed - an authentic NY City style deli. Very good sandwiches and matzo ball soup. ”
