“ Sit down, open the menu and think.. wow.. I'd better be committed to this experience. It's going to be at least $50 for 2. Well, I went inside, asked myself what I felt like and decided I didn't really want the cooked chicken over rice $11.95. So, my friend and I got the sushi Party (which is normally for takeout.) Our waitress was fun, knowledgeable and ended up making the experience really enjoyable. We closed them down and didn't get pushed out the door at all. The rolls looked great and I'll be trying those next. The sushi party, with nigiri and a few rolls was more than enough for two. Don't let the prices scare you, just know you'll enjoy the experience. ”

“ I guess the prices are slightly higher than other casual sushi spots but the quality is well worth it and actually seems like a value when you consider the quality to price ratio. I got the bento box lunch with salmon and tempura. Tempura was crisp and yummy! The salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce was sweet but not overly so. I also got a spicy yellow tail roll, which was fresh, spicy and delish! Great place for a quick casual lunch. Recommended. ”

“ Looking at the menu and selection, my first impression was that they better be really good to command the price they are asking. In a city where there are hundreds of sushi dives, fish is fish some with a little more flare. Not here, after taking my first bite of my blue fin tuna, I knew I wouldn't mind paying the extra money! After all, if you get what you pay for, and the product is really good then you enjoy the experience and you develop an new standard of which to rate or judge other places. One after the other, Maguro, Hamachi, the perfect oily fish flavor of the Saba (my favorite) they were all good! I also had their prawn tempura, also excellent. In fact my mouth is salivating as I sit here writing this, I fear that too many repeated trips will damage my experience of this place. It is located kitty corner from where the old Doggie Diner was on Geary. Parking is difficult, but worth the effort. This is without doubt my best choice in the city! A return you bet! ”

“ Angela and I ate here a few weeks back for lunch and it was definitely an enjoyable experience. I enjoyed the bento box with sashimi and tempura both very good, the Wasabi was fresh and explosive, I just love fresh Wasabi. The miso soup was also good, over all good, but missing a little something to take it to eleven. delivered by a friendly staff in a nice traditional atmosphere, worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood. ”

“
Good and fresh sushi place. I highly recommend this place. The prices are a bit high, but you'll get what you pay for. We got the dinner combo, and it was "a lot". I love sushi and I will always try to find more sushi place like this. ”

“
I think this is the best sushi in town. They give big pieces of fish on their rolls. The sushi chefs are friendly and the place has a very warm family atmosphere. It is moderately priced, not cheap, but just right for the quality. ”

“
My wife was at CPMC, an hour away from beginning childbirth induction. Knowing it was going to be a long night (and trying to get the taste of the hospital's MISERABLE rueben sandwich out of my mouth), I hurriedly went in search of my favorite comfort meal...sushi! It was tough to find a place that was open before 5, but there they were. It seemed a bit pricey at first, but I had less than an hour to get my food and get back to the hospital. Turns out to be among the best sushi I've had in San Francisco. The tuna had that deep red color that'll make any aficionado drool. In addition, the wait staff was very friendly...They seemed to share my excitement, and the sushi chef put a rush on the order so I could get back to my wife in time. I haven't been back because I live in Daly City and don't make it over to Geary often, but Nagano still ranks among the best with me. ”
