“ Ate here 33 years ago, and then again last night. Hasn't changed much. The celebrity photos all over the walls have been updated. Place was packed Friday night at 9:00 PM. I asked the greeter in italian for mercy. We got seated in 15 minutes. This is old school Italo-Cali-American cuisine at its best. Family style, shared portions. Minestrone comes in a bowl with ladle. The soup was based on a fagioli mash with chicken broth, loaded with sauteed carrots, escarole, barley & potato hunks. Goes great with the fluffy, tasty bread. Salad equally fresh & full of little surprises like big slices of sweet red beets and stewed ceci beans. We both "splurged" on the $21 osso buco. Portion size was tremendous. We brought 50% home in a container for another meal. The waitress effortlessly served at least 30 people without breaking a sweat & kept her good humor. Capp's is an enduring landmark. Eat really GOOD Cali-Italy food for Pasta Pomodoro prices! ”
