“ This place is tucked in a corner of a shopping plaza and it isn't quite noticeable as the lighting is rather poor but the food is as authentic as it can get. We started off with two appetizers: a deep fried eggplant with yogurt and meat topping and some sort of turnover filled with meat and vegetables. The deep fried eggplant was good (I'm partial to eggplants no matter how it's cooked) but the turnover was even better. The pastry was very light and fluffy but yet had a firm texture to it. It is a definite MUST try! For entrees, I ordered a dish with lamb meat buried under challaw (fried brown basmati rice) that is topped with shredded carrots and raisins. It tasted just like my afghan friend's mom's home-cooked challaw, if not better. The lamb meat that was buried under the pile of rice was so tender - they must have cooked it in some sort of stew for hours. Prices at this place is above average. Our bill came up to about $40 for the two of us, without beverages. Prompt service. ”
