“
The best part of the dinner was the sake..which was non filtered and excellent..good reccomendation from the waitress..Clean sushi but nothing to write home about..good ambiance for a date I actually had a better time at the wine bar up the street that is owned by the same people..Check it out ”

“
sushi is excellent but service and attitude make it just a neutral for me. I've been at least a handful of times and have the exact same experience. sushi is worth it if you are patient and don't mind attitude from the waitstaff. It is always crowded so make a reservation. Not a great first date spot if you want to actually be able to hear the conversation but if you're out for a fun night and want to be part of the scene, this is the place to be. ”

“ I went with four friends to this friendly establishment. It's a nice date place because the music and ambiance are inviting. I was surprised that we got so much for the final bill. We were all stuffed and practically forced the remaining items down because they were SOOOO good. This place has interesting rolls that they specialize in like the salmon roll with cooked salmon, avocado and something else. I think it's Pete's roll. Good selection of sake by the glass. We had to ask several times for certain things but otherwise it was good service too. I'd go back again with another date. Who wants to go out on a date with me? :) ”

“ good place - I'm a veggie so I didn't eat any fish and the pickings for the vegetarian fare are slim, but there were a few excellent rolls. Parking sucks, and if you go early its not crowded. Service was a little slow, overall great. ”

“ The place gets packed so make a reservation. It's a cute little place wit lots of pretty people. It has a lively party atmosphere. My group and I had to wait forever for a table but it was tolerable since the bar makes lots of good sake-based drinks. The food was definitely above average, and service seemed spotty but then we were a big party and the place was very busy. I had a fun time. ”

“ This is one of the top 2 sushi spots in the city (Blowfish is my other pick). It's a small neighborhood place, so get there early or make reservations. Fish is constantly exceptional and fresh. The atmosphere is intimate and is a good place to enjoy the food and actually hear your dinner companion talk. They have an associated wine bar 5 doors down that is used as a nice waiting room. 9 out of 10! ”

“ Martel is a great promoter who has figured out a good way to keep the club kids happy and make it all feel a cut above. Its not but it does service the community well. just another sushi house in a city that has nothing but more of the same. I wait to find the kinf osushi I can get all over LA in tis town and by this places rep you would think...but no... ”

“ Martel's shows he knows sushi, not just the club biz. The sushi and sashimi is solid, and many of the cooked dishes surprise as well. This is the original more laid back version which is better for taking your parents or good friends for a good sushi meal. Go to sushi Groove South when you want to party with your friends. There's also a cute little wine bar next door if you're waiting for a table. ”
