“One of the best cheap funky greasy spoon diners. Get the pancakes, they're light and fluffy. Good place to grub after the clubs close and get a good cheap breakfast. It's a long time family owned place that should be experienced.”
“This is an old school "greasy" dinner with great food. I love it most for breakfast with pancakes at teh top of my order, but it's typically great for burgers, chx sandwiches and soups as well. very central and generally friendly staff (not always...it can be mad busy at times).

“Simple, but good. This place doesn't do anything fancy, it just does breakfast right. Nice portions and good prices. Don't get there too late or you'll be waiting outside for a table (the place is tiny). Someone in your party has to order the pancakes, everyone else will be very appreciative.”
“Excellent greasy spoon diner fare. Their sign outside claims to have the best hot cakes in SF, and they are really good, but not the best the city has to offer. Go to Kate's for the best pancakes. ”
“I had a delicious greasy spoon breakfast here. We did not order the hot cakes, actually but still had a delicious egg breakfast. Very fun place for a late Sunday breakfast.”
“Always a wait, but well worth it....I love the Blueberry pancakes myself. The cool 50's decor actually seems to work here - I think because the building was transported from that era. Definitely check it out.

“You know, they say they've used the same griddle since the place opened which was several decades ago! but I think it's the secret to their perfect fluffy pancakes. Everything on the menu is good, and though you may have to wait for a table (it's pretty small) it's no where near the lines of other breakfast spots (Dotty's/Ella's). I won't say its as good as those places, but still very good. Mmmmmmmm Pancakes.....”
