Neutral Cuisine: Italian Downtown
Just went tonight based on reviews here. Not really as good as the previous reviews suggested. This would be great italian in the burbs, but here there's just too much that's better (i.e. more authentic and original). The waiter was very nice, though he was a little scarce at some points in the meal. The food was what I would expect from a chef who knows italian food (e.g. carpaccio di manzo, carbonara, saltimbocca, etc), but who knows that middle of the road American tourist palates cannot be too challanged. As a result of the latter, the dishes were made safe with cream sauces, large servings and an extra ladle of boring. The menu was pretty extensive which is not a plus in my experience: I have almost never had a good meal at a places that had a large selection. I'm going neutral because it's not awful, just safe and upscale touristy. Review #19213

I'm always disappointed with italian restaurants because...usually when I'm dining, I'm thinking I could have done SO MUCH BETTER. Fino was a surprise that didn't disappoint. The food was great...started with the beef carpacio, then the roasted salmon with pasta. The wine list was unexpected having alot of different italian wines I wasn't familiar, and we settled on a very good chianti which is also a challenge. The restaurant is not large, but was comfortably full during out dining. I will be back. Review #6671

A true find. I happened to stumple upon this place as I was checking out Le Colonial. We stumbled upon the Hidden Vine (right next door to Fino) an AWESOME wine bar family owned--MUST TRY!. Fino was fabulous! Comfy, affordable, great food and decent wine list. I had the veal saltimboca and my b/f had the grilled salmon. Marvelous, great service and we had a bottle of the Volpaia chiati---very yummy. THis is my current fav italian restaurant. Review #6516
