Perfect for what I was looking for when entertaining friends from Spain. I wanted to find a little so call hole in the wall" japanese restaurant where we could enjoy sushi and chit chat...bingo I found the place. I personally like sushi that is how can I say this..."cooked" ,in other words I do not want to eat any fish that has the possibility of being a carrier of parasites...got it! Hey I am in the Pharma field, I have had to do plenty of calls to ER's and do not want to make any personal ones. And please....NO ER jokes...thank you very much ;-). The only thing that wanted to make me swim out of this place like a fish was the eel(YUK)! I do not care what you call it's a snake in the water. not eating it! My friends seemed to enjoy it...thats what really mattered..them eel eaters" The main thing here is what I would call their Special Rolls"..they are just under 12.00 and teriyaki is good too. Per person with drinks..say $25-$40..unless you are Mormon!;-) Review #18655

Miyabi is my favorite everyday sushi restaurant. The sushi is always fresh and delicious and the chefs and servers are always friendly and attentive. No matter how much I eat and drink there, I never pay more than $20-25, which allows me to eat there multiple times a week without feeling guilty! The décor is a bit dated but somehow adds to the charm of the lite rock that plays in the background. A few of my favs: The Church Roll—tempura asparagus with mango, The Dynamite Roll—tempura hamachi with a spicy sauce, The Funky Dooty Roll—the Church roll, wrapped with spicy tuna assembled to look like a flower and garnished with seaweed salad, and the white tuna nigiri. YUM--I've never been disappointed here! Review #18214

Have eaten lunch and dinner here a couple of times. On our latest visit I had Unagi over rice. The Unagi ( BBQ fresh water eel ) was excellent . My wife had a mixed tempura meal that she liked. On a prior visit we had lunch and we both had box lunches that were, we thought , a little above average in quality and fairly inexpensive. The service here is efficient and the atmosphere nice for enjoying a meal. Not really a go out of your way to get to restaurant , it is a good choice if you are in the area and looking for a japanese food fix. Review #14546

Good for the price. You can't really beat the lunch bento deals. Miso and salad is good too. Out of the three in the area, Miyabi, Warakabune & "No Name", I would go here. Review #9517

When I first moved to San Francisco in 1994, I loooooved Miyabi (perhaps in part because it was open until 1 AM and let me feel less guilty about putting off dinner engagements when I had to work late ... and because it also had a full liquor license back then). These days, Miyabe's convenient, utilitarian, and not overpriced. I'd still recommend a visit if the location's good for you ... but otherwise, there's not much to write home about. This would probably be a great restaurant if it were in Cetinje or Bratislava, but alas, it's not. In San Francisco, at this point, it's really just at the 'upper end of mediocrity' (thanks, Indigo Girls). Review #7827

Nice, inexpensive restaurant for decent sushi. The service is sometimes slow but you get what you pay for. Good food for the price and I would recommend this place for casual dining with friends. Probably not a place for a date though =) Lunch specials are well worth the $5. Review #7685

This place is a nice sushi house with big bay windows, so everyone can see you if you sit close enough by the window. I'm not much of a sushi or maki roll eater but more of the sashimi side. The Toro, Tobiko, Saba & Suzuki sashimi style is really good and well prepaired. If you sit by the bar and ask for specialty orders they are glad to do it. They make a mean Sashimi Spicy Salad which is really good. The service here is good too they are kind and polite as well as quick too. Review #2361
