“
The food's all right. I know we've had a couple of things we thought were pretty good, food-wise, but generally I just think "Eh, it's all right food". But the beer is great! We go back because the beer is good. February was "strong beer month" and they had an incredible selection. Even during normal times, I enjoy the beer. ”

“ I had a so-so experience for lunch. We arrived around 1:15 pm and were seated pretty promptly; our intention was not to have a leisurely lunch, but that's what we go (we paid and left at around 2:20 pm. Service was slow but friendly. We ordered the calamari (which was pretty good) and the Buffalo wings (served with ranch, not blue cheese, & were covered in barbecue sauce) for appetizers. My three friends ordered the southwestern salad and liked it. I ordered the chinese chicken salad which was OK. I will probably go back, but only because it is located three doors down from my new office. ”

“ I actually think the food is real good for a bar atmosphere. I would go here more often, if only the employees could act like they don't hate being there! I have been at least 6 times and every time the same bartender is there. He looks and acts like he is in pain. I really like the Watermelon Wheat, but good luck at trying to get more than 1. I usually give up by then and just go next door. If you go by and they are not busy, they I say stop and try it.

“ I'm changing my review from neutral to positive after two more decently good experiences at 21st. Try the Buffalo Cobb salad if you've got room in your belly for boneless Buffalo fried chicken, avocado, hard-cooked egg, cherry tomatoes, bacon (hold the bacon for me), and bleu cheese.
American food has a slight California influence here, with salmon burgers and veggie burgers available for non-red meat eaters. Lunch plates are a little high: $9-$13, but homebrew beer is only around $4 a pint. Watch out for the ice tea--they say it's unsweetened, but I'm sure there's a lingering raspberry flavor in there, even if the sugar content is nil! ”

“ Talk about an identify crisis, this place thinks that it is the Barron Rothschild of brew pubs, Hello, It's a BREW PUB, Beer, Hops, that's it! These people need a sense of humor; they take this beer business way too serious! Ok, the garlic fries are cheaper and much better than at the game! (Got sunburned, best day of the year in the city so far) The burgers here are as you make them. Guess what; I specified Rare, Guess what I got? Why waste a good 1/3 lb of meat unless, hemmmmm, suppose to be Reiman ranch? Done the way I got it, it could have been road kill cow. No one came back to ask how the food was, (it was expensive, burger $12) Anyway, it's ok to drop in, before or after the game, for some beer, not the food, unless you are prepared for average bar food! Noisy to boot!

“ The porter and red were nice and tasty, but their selection of brews was pretty skimpy when last I visited, which is not so great for a brewpub, and many reported that some of the others were downright bad.
The food is reasonably good, though definately on the expensive side - think $9 for a plain burger, and an extra $1.50 to add bacon or avocado or anything else you might want. The space also tends to be very loud, very easily. ”

“ The real reason to go there is the beer. My husband especially likes to go in February for Strong Beer Month, which they do as a cooperative event with Magnolia in the Haight. The food is decent, though I've been disappointed recently that the menu has shrunk to mostly burger-type selections. ”

“ Excellent burger. The Buffalo chicken Cobb salad was good, but the chicken tasted like it had been lurking in the fridge for about a week. The greens were very fresh, however. As for the beer, the blonde was just ok, the pale ale was too sweet, the stout tasted like watery home brew, and thankfully the IPA was just right. The pomegranate cider was delicious as ciders go. The service was very good. Bedwetting drunk former fraternity pledges (from the 90s) were well represented among the fellow patrons. ”

“ Not too many options here in South Beach so it's always nice to see new offerings. The burgers are okay, the grilled calamari is a different twist instead of the usual fried calamari, the chicken quesadillas are standard fare, but the watermelon beer is tasty. Better to get a couple beers than grab a couple of apps or entrees. ”

“ Went again in August 2005 - had some good sweet potato soup and tasty arugula/spinach/pear salad (but they really need to learn to slice the pear! it had huge chunks of pear). Boyfriend had burger which was really big, juicy, and good ($10.50 with fries). Pints $4.50, or $3.00 if you can get there at happy hour which ends early at 5:30.
2004 - I concur with Xiuh - great burgers & beer, but a bit pricey... ”

“ I've warmed up to this place as a weekday lunch spot. Some highlights: Niman Ranch burgers, grilled chicken sandwich, pizzelle, house salad with absolutely delicious dressing. Their beers really are decent -- if they have the watermelon beer, TRY IT, it is incredible. Downside: overpriced food and mixed drinks, on game nights and Fridays it's packed to the point of discomfort, and NOT a good crowd. Try it for lunch sometime. ”
