“ Easily tempted by any restaurant that serves brunch, this one was not easy to resist. They have an array of THEE quintessential brunch lovely - eggs benedict. Trying to figure out how my benedict should be configured was not easy either. The possibilities are endless. I chose it topped with crab cakes and a caper hollandaise on baguette. They also have a ‘do it yourself' bloody mary bar with several tomato juices, hot sauces and garnishes to choose from. Buttermilk biscuits with sausage gravy and Mimosas are also other great options. A DJ also spins music to keep you grooving in the spatial, warehouse setting. I will be back. ”

“ March 25, 2006, 7:54:03 pm
Valet parking (nice, and in a lot too, not just randomly parked on the street). Valet is $10. Tried the fondue (Cheddar+ Sierra Nevada and Gruyere+Cognac). Verdict=nice. Warm bread and cilantro/garlic/vinegar/oil, verdict-= nice (not snice, but nice). Crab napoleon- yum. The Beef will be the dealbreaker (update: Deal=not broken, deal=mended). Music: DJ, congo, guitarist collabo. Key factors (thanks to ML): At 8:30 on a Saturday night you can sit at the bar and order a meal without a wait. Overall impression: 2.5 teeth on the fierceness scale (and we were too drunk to remember what the top of the scale was). ”

“ Had such a fun dinner here with a group of friends. We all orderd a bunch of appetizers and a couple entrees to share and 2 bottles of wine.
Went through it all. Mini lamb burgers are awesome. The Ono came on a kabob and was so flavorful. Crab Napoleon, was sweet and delicious.
Yummy infused vodka drinks. ”

“ I've been here for Sunday brunch several times. The bloody-mary bar is a great feature, has multiple flavors/spice levels to choose from. The food choices are fairly typical for brunch, but taste great. I also like the staff and the very cool room/decor with high ceilings, exposed brick, and DJ. The place has really caught on since I first went and it was empty and was packed last time I was there.

“ Fabulous spot! Good food, excellent service, great drinks! Love the space and the vibe. Had been told there was valet parking... turned out not to be available night I was there, you may want to confirm. Found easy street parking nearby (no parking until 7pm likely helps create evening parking availability). Definitely will return. ”

“ The Levende Lounge is exceptional. Chef Jamie Lauren was picked by the SF Chronicle to be named a rising star chef, and she is. A few bites of anything she cooks here proves that: Everything is delicious and the quality holds up on repeated visits, try anything. I recently had the delicious heirloom tomato salad, the delectable indian-spiced mini lamb burgers (a meal in themselves and a signature dish), the remarkable sparkling marinated white prawns, finger-lickin' spectacular crab cakes with aioli, I got it all over, awesomely succulent braised beef cheeks (i know, i know) and the fabulous deliciously blended and moist cheese-stuffed chicken. The perfectly-prepared pommes frites are served in a paper cone and are thin and crispy like in France. All of the desserts are good, but the floral trio creme brulee is one of San Francisco's best. The atmosphere is wonderfully hip and warm and the overall experience one of decadence...GO. ”

“ I went here for drinks with a friend, who had heard Levende was known for their "beef cheeks". I was a bit hesitant to try "beef cheeks" at first, but after a few drinks I thought what the heck. I was so glad I tried them, they were amazing! They were the only thing I tried, but I would definitely make a trip back for them. The lounge atmosphere was great with lots of candle-light, DJ's, etc. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. ”

“ Great space! I like that they have a great menu, great drinks and a DJ with dancing. The food is a little pricey for the size. But we had some scallops that were delicious. Service can be spotty, but it is a newer place. Great Friday or Saturday night dinner spot. Plus parking is easy. ”

“ Chic, hip, tasty. Who could ask for more. Inventive wine list is a great place to explore new wines. I had the Olabisi Syrah at $40 which was to die for. Amazing wine. The restaurant keeps up the Butterfly tradition of fusion style cuisine beautifully presented. The indian spiced mini lamb burgers with a cumin yogurt sauce was the best of the night. Loved the tri-tip but skip the pork tenderloin. Somewhat dried out. The DJ is spinning vinyl and at 10:00 live music accompanied the DJ almost as an overlay to the already remixed tunes that were being played. All in all, a very fun night! ”

“ This lounge has nice small plates at reasonable prices. The menu is creative and great for sharing. Try the grilled asparagus, duck confit tacos, and the roasted red beet arugula salad. Not so much options for vegitarians. Too much frite and not enough pommes- their version of pomme frites were ribbon thin. The atmosphere is posh yet relaxed with the DJ spinning groovy eurobeats. ($10 cover after 10 pm I think) Nice cocktail and decent wine menu also. Serivce can be a little slow. ”

“ We had Easter Brunch there and were entertained by some folks in bunny and rooster costumes who handed out Easter eggs, pretty cute. Anyway, the Bloody Mary bar was excellent and fully stocked. I had the Poached Egg Crab Cakes (wow!) and the dressing on the spinach salad was great. He had an omelet and the cinnamon sugar pancakes, delicious. The atmosphere was nice and open, funky and plush, and the dj was having fun. Our waiter told us to come back for a late dinner (he said the dinner menu is even better than the brunch) and stay for drinks and dancing (things pick up after 9 pm). ”

“ I had my b'day brunch here a few Sundays ago, and it was fantastic. From the confirmation of the reservation to the payment of the check, everything was perfect. The food was awesome (be sure to have the crab cakes and have the fries on the side). The bloody mary bar is cool, where you can dress your own drink. I love the atmosphere, and the interior and setting of the restaurant is unique. I like the DJ concept, which is why I chose Levende Lounge. The music adds a cool flavor to the whole experience.
I'll definitely go back, the construction isn't a bother as long as people know where it is. ”

“ This place has a great atmosphere with fun paintings: it's a bar/lounge/restaurant with a DJ (who was playing music to eat dinner by in a hip, unobnoxious style) and some live music, too. The service was really great, the drinks were great and actually had alcohol in them, and the "small plates" food was very well executed. The carmelized brussels sprouts made me actually want more brussels sprouts! The scallops with kabocha squash puree and chard were perfectly cooked and quite yummy. ”

“ Want a 3-D effect? Dinner Drinks and Dancing. Add some S's in there and you have quite an evening! Food plates are interesting, reasonable and heck, it's just downright fun. Go there to get warmed up before Doc's Clock. I think it's probably one of the only places you can go to with a bar scene, dancing, and drinks. My only problem is the location. It's right near all that construction at Duboce and Mission. Parking isn't terribly difficult but can be sketchy if you park near the empty lots. ”
