My family has been going here for years because it is one of those great neighborhood restaurants where the food is consistently good and reasonably priced. I actually went here 2 weekends ago for brunch for the first time and I was a bit skeptical about brunch, but was pleasantly surprised. I had crab cakes benedict and it was absolutely delicious. We usually go for dinner and my favorite here is the filet mignon. Dinners are served with soup or salad, and I usually have the soup, but you can ask for a caesar salad instead of the house salad at no extra charge. The filet is served with garlic (not strong enough in my opinion) mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables and mushrooms on top of the steak. I like my meat rare and they never disappoint. Service has always been good when we are there. Parking is a bit of a problem, but there are a couple lots with meters just a block or two away. Review #19931

My husband and I enjoyed this restaurant very much. The service and the food were great. The place is much larger and more romantic than we'd anticipated. We'll be back here. Review #7182

Have been here 5 or 6 times and I never know whether I am going to have a great experience or just an OK experience. Big portions of meaty comfort food - but there is always at least one vegetarian entree on the extensive specials menu. I've had co-diners complain that the meat tends to be overcooked. The roasted garlic appetizer is yummy. Can get loud when the place is crowded but I have never had to wait for a table. Review #3040

The good ol' staple notion fits. This place lacks the contemporary nouveau flare, yet some menu items, like my lunch salad with fish mimicked current trends. The salad was a bit over-dressed, but otherwise good. Good service for a large table of coworkers. Review #2284

another dependable place that's been around for a long time. Food is basic America fare but done well. They offer some daily specials. Service is friendly, and Wooden booths add to the enjoyment. This is the type of place where they know your name after a few visits. local neighborhood place Review #1403
