“ I used to hit the location in Union Square while shopping...the pizzas are quick and cheap. They have your usual combos, but the best is their potato pesto. Strictly a grab and go spot. ”

“ They used to have a location on Stockton, miss that one....none=the-less, if you're looking for a nice thin-slice that is piping-hot then New York pizza is the place to go. Classic toppings like pepperoni are joined on the menu by cool & trendy stuff like feta, sun- dried tomatoes, pesto and various spicy chicken. ”

“ My office ordered pizza from Escape From NY pizza for 3/18/05 delivery. It arrived promptly and was fresh, hot and delicious. The pies were saucy but not too saucy, the cheese was plentiful but not at all excessive, and the ingredients (crush, sauce, cheese, meats and veggies, etc.) were delicious. We got the Meat Combo, BBQ chicken with Applewood bacon and Cheddar Cheese, Veggie Combo, Cheese, Sliced Potato with roasted garlic cloves over pesto and the Gourmet pizza with Feta, Artichoke and Spinach. The potato pizza, while sounding strange, was great! The potatoes were cooked perfectly, not at all too hard and not mushy, and they went really well with the roasted garlic and pesto sauce. The BBQ chicken with Applewood bacon and Cheddar Cheese got rave reviews and was eaten up, and the artichoke / feta combo was also a hit. The others, while standard sounding, were superb tasting. I HIGHLY recommend Escape from New York pizza at 331 Bush St. in San Francisco. (415) 421-0700. ”

“ The potato pesto pizza is a fabulous surprise! Whole cloves of garlic! (I usually need to put a little salt on my slice, though.) They also have a "happy hour" special, where cheese & pep slices are only $20 between 4-6 pm (I think, or it might be 3-5 pm). ”

“ Good downtown quick-lunch spot - especially when sunny/warm out - can sit outside and people watch. They have some pretty good NY style pizza (pesto potato - yum!) and the salads are really good. ”
