Again, more friends from out of town, need to see the highlights of the city. Hey, they are paying for it, so let's go to the Starlight, then we can take them to Fisherman's wharf. Well, as the elevator doors opened we were greeted with a fantastic view of a three block roof top selection. Drinks were ordered and arrived quickly. The pricy libations obviously pay for the view, since the lack of patrons at 6 o'clock on a Thursday were far and few between. I guess the place doesn't start hopping until 9 PM. Way to late for my out of towners. Maybe next time. Nothing special except the glitze associated with a turn of the century bordello. ( So I am told). Maybe one day I will return after 9 PM. Barbara brought me here for a surprise date. I think she actually planned for dinner which I nixed after 2 drinks at a window small table . The view is fabulous. The "jazz" combo was starting up. The tall young blonde servers in the long cocktail dressss are enticing eye candy. All the red velvet curtains and fake 1950's Rat Pack decor is too gagalicious for me, and I'm a 2nd generation Italo-American who loves Frank Sinatra music. Mr. Denton was in the house, tuxedo clad. The place was packed with starry-eyed, corn fed faces from Iowa, Nebraska, and Turlock. I thanked Barbara for the invitation and took her to Kuleto's for dinner instead. I love Disneyland, Las Vegas and other tourist spots for the kitsch. This place gave me an mental allergic reaction. Review #12322

Very nice to you even if you're not dressed up and brought your 8-year old. I like to have martinis while my son has a fancy ice cream dessert and ogles the pretty cocktail hostesses. Go early before the band just to watch the view. Children are asked to leave at 8pm. Review #6284

Good for the view and atmosphere, and fun for the small dance floor. Reasonably good drinks, but not the best bartenders in the city. Review #4505

The view is indeed quite nice but the prices are up there as well. The atmosphere and history are great, expecially if you're escorting out-of-towners. Review #4439

Strong drinks while overlooking San Francisco's beautiful landscape. The grand piano adds a nice touch to this high class, San Francisco classic. Best lemon drop martini and the chartreuse swizzle is quite nice as well. Nice way to end the night. Very romantic! Review #3794

Feel like a high-roller. The view is...WOW!!! Prices are not bad. If you have not been you should just for the view alone, but at least have a drink. I hear they have a hip night time scene, good music and lots of pretty people. Review #1517

Fantastic views of San Francisco, great place for a light dinner, Drinks or dancing. They make a pretty good ceasar salid. On an odd note, the flatware is Versace, which give whatever you eat a feeling of elegance :-) Review #1412
