“ A Very nice dining experience. The food was well prepared, very tasty, and moderately priced. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The staff was very accommodating to our large group. As an out of town guest, I look forward to returning. ”

“ I thought this place was great. We had a polenta with marinara and mushrooms. It was very wonderfully cooked. The polenta had a nice chew to it, and the mushrooms were so nicely cooked that it was like biting into small jewels. My main dish was a chicken pasta with white wine and veggies. It was not heavy, and the sauce complimented all the ingredients. Prices were very reasonable. My date and myself ate dinner with drinks for under 30 bucks..... Very knowledgeable staff and super nice interior. Totally recommend. ”

“ This was kind of interesting how we found this place. During lunchtime one of my fellow employees and I were driving in the heart of this nice little downtown area looking for an italian restaurant...and PRESTO! It was nice, good food and very good prices. I cannot talk about the dinner, but the lunch was very nicely priced and a good value. ”

“ Tried out this restaurant for the first time tonight. Pretty nice atmosphere and our waiter was quite attentive. I had the smoked salmon pizza which was excellent. They must have a really hot brick oven since the pizza was ready in about 15 minutes. My wife had the capellini which she thought was very good. For desert I had a chocolate pot de creme which was very rich and tasty. We enjoyed our meal and will be visiting this italian restaurant again. ”

“ $9-$18 plates of warm, delicious italian food--that's what you get at Spiazzo. Spaghetti with clams is more than you can eat, but simple and elegant using a sparse number of ingredients to let all the flavors stand out (clams, garlic, tomato sauce, pasta). The capellini, the simplest dish you can order, is a classic blend of tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and al dente strands of pasta. Bruschetta is served two ways: with diced tomatoes and with a mushroom topping. For dessert, try the gelato, which comes wedged on a dark, velvety chocolate brownie. ”

“ Nice little neighborhood joint. Food is pretty good- nothing in the outstanding/blows your mind category but it is good, consistent food. The appetizers are good and every time I've eaten pasta its been served right. (Don't you hate pasta not served al dente?) Normally pretty crowded so make reservations. Wine prices are decent. ”

“ This is a warm friendly italian restaurant just a few paces from West Portal station. The atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing. The food is wonderfully prepared and affordable. The staff does go the extra mile, wine list is OK....love the polenta dish and the melanzane. we always order extra so we can have left overs on the weekend. I have been here probably 20 times over the past few years and have never been disappointed. ”
