I think that I will be coming to this restaurant a lot. I went there last night for the first time. What a great space. It's totally open and casual with high ceilings, funky junk all over, and TVs to watch the Giants. The prices are low, but the food was good. Our server was nice, but the service was slow because she was the only one serving (there were three bus boys which was strange). We treated ourselves to jalapeno poppers which weren't greasy at all. For an entree I wanted the lemon caper snapper, but they were out of snapper. the waitress offered to have the meal prepared with yellow tail, but I'd already had my serving of tuna for the week. I opted for the rib which came on a bed of hearty mashed potatoes and a small pile of greens. My friend ordered the odd but delicious hawaiian chicken cordon bleu, which sounded weird at first, but the pineapple made sense when you tasted it with the ham. The bill including tax came to $30. OMG, try the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo - it's seriously the best thing on the menu since the grilled cheese is on foccacia with pesto. I have tried other sandwiches/soups there, but I would say that the grilled cheese/soup combo definitely tops everything! Review #16620

This place has great pricey lunch options. The spinach salad is great and the sandwiches are always tasty. I've always found the people here to be friendsly, not rude as one person mentioned, although when it gets busy they may become a little less attentive. Review #13932

The food was pretty good, but the service was really slow. The menu is mostly burgers/sandwiches, and that sort of thing. Review #13241

Unbelievably bad service. I will never go back. The server was SOOOO rude, I couldn't believe it. I'm not even that rude to people I hate, let alone paying customers!! Review #7684

Consistantly good and gets crowded for lunch. Tuesday and Thursday's they serve a bbq pork sandwich that is great. The basil tomato soup and sandwich combo is perfect on a cool day. Many sandwich and salad options here. Review #7447

My morning JOE! These people are awesome and friendly! The atmosphere is great for a little cafe tucked in a very boring part of town. Food is good quality, tasty, lunch is a bit expensive for the neighborhood considering it's sandwiches, soup, and salad. This is one of the few places to eat in this neighborhood that won't disappoint. Review #6651

I love the crowd here in the evening - always an interesting mix of funky locals and after work crowd. The food is not phenomenal - but the menu offers a lot of choices. Stay away from the pasta dishes and stick to the pub food... it is what they do best. The wait staff is always friendly. Review #6634

Cute little cafe with a full bar on Brannan. Went there for brunch, and was pleasantly surprised. My GF had the smoked salmon bennedict, and I had the pancakes and a house scramble. They used to only be open for breakfast and lunch, but I understand that they have updated their menu quite a bit and are now offering dinner. Brickhouse may be in need of an updated review. Nice cozy bar/cafe. Interesting interior with tables, booths, and bar stools. Doors can open wide for a bit of the outdoors. Decent menu, with good vegetarian options (haven't tried the vege chili, but the fact that they have it is a good sign). Dinner menu is eclectic and good selection of drinks. The food didn't blow me away, but it's a nice casual option when you don't have the pocket book or attitude for Bacar a couple blocks away. Try the southern sampler thing. Don't know how authentic it is, but you can't beat a sampling of fried cornish game hen, ribs, slaw and a hush puppy to boot. Review #6008

This place is soemthing like a high end cafe - and if you don't mind $10.00 lunches (sandwhich and drink comes with side salad or fries), check this place out. I've had the tuna, yellowtail, and pork sandwiches, and they were all delicious. A lot of people order burgers here and they try to keep the menu changing and updated. Atmosphere is cozy ( when it started I remember it was video store that had a coffee bar ) but since then they have updated it quite a bit. Service is good - I usually go later in the afternoon when not so crowded. They alos have a bit of a bar scene for the after work crowd but I haven't dropped by, but have seen it as I walk by to the bank. Review #5117

Great Sandwiches , salads....brunch on saturdays--pretty decent eggs bennies ($2 bloody marys or mimosa with your meal on saturdays) Full bar. Super Friendly staff. THey have been adding a lot of new items and seeing what people like. They have added dinner and several specials and apps. I have had a couple things that wern't all that great...but I still love this place....nice local spot/hangout...quirky and fun. Review #1599
