Banana Charlotte! I have even gone far enough to order a whole one on my birthday! I have to say that I never bought anything here that was not scrumpcious. The tiramasu is very good, but I have had a better one at the Steps of Rome. Anything chocolate and raspberry paired together is a winner. A whole lotta yum here. Review #13570

Over the years, I have developed a serious hatred for this place. It used to be a good hang-out, especially because it is open late, but several problems have made it unbearable. (1) Even if there is one person ahead of you on line, you will wait three times longer than you expect. (2) The coffee is served in small mugs and is not very good anyway. (3) The desserts seem to have been conceived with the sole intention of making them as enormous as possible (typically about the size of a brick) and as expensive as possible (a slice of cake will run you about $8). Forget it. Review #11890

almost everything i've had here was really good. pricey, but the portions are huge. enough to take some home for the next day. only one thing was so-so (pumpkin cheesecake). but everything else was fabulous! rich, flavorful, not overly sweet. doesn't taste like you're just eating sugar. the fruit is fresh. The double berry cheesecake tasted great. A good choice of cookies, tarts, pies etc., are available to tempt. (and huge hot chocolates) If you can get a seat near the window it is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Open late and Castro / Haight close by. What more could you ask for? Review #7806

The pastry and cake display will inspire you to order something sweet. The bakery is nice, but my experieince has been to grab a couple of cookies and hit the road. Nothing overly fantastic, but solid...this is no Tartine. They're open late...I think the last time I left Lime around 11:45 pm so if you need a sweet treat and it's late, Sweet Inspirations can be the one. Review #7023

I've stopped in here on a few occasions for coffee and cookies and pastries and have always been happy. Yes I have had better...but the cookies have always been yummy. Its not like a 'REAL' bakery (i.e. Tartine ) that I would make a special trip to go to...but when in the neighbourhood it has always treated me right. Review #6960

Doesn't quite make the grade. It is very impressive, with dozens of luscious looking cakes on display, and huge portion slices of cake, but nothing is outstanding. It always seems to suck me in when I walk by, but never satisfies your expectations. I have heard more than a few people complain of the flies on the cakes, but have never noticed them myself. One piece of cake here is enough to serve 2-4 people and the price is indicative of that! But I love their menu and their carrot cake is to die for. Good place to go if you are left unsatisfied with your dinner and need a little bit extra. Review #4942

i'm a huge cheesecake fan. i have tried their's a few times and it has never really hit the spot. some of the other desserts have been good, but i have never been wowed by this place. somehow their reputation seems to better than their food. truthfully, their are better places for baked goods in the city. Don't get sick eating the cakes and pastries that are stored in gnat-infested counter bins. The desserts taste average at best. Go to a real bakery. This place ain't worth the calories. Review #3378

Supersize desserts and the coffee isn't bad. The place could feel a little warmer and I've seen fruit flies a few times --- Just learn how to bake a cake. Or maybe a cupcake. Review #3179

Sweet Inspirations inspires me to bake at home. This is mainly because I do not get how paying $8 for a mousse cup in a neon lit, glorified ice cream place is fun. But, when walking by I am prone to grabbing a cookie or a truffle. Watch put for some of the staff- they are way cooler then you are. Review #2512

Although on the pricy side, you get what you pay for. This wonderful bakery bakes up some amazing desserts and also does some good standard breakfast fare. Located near the corner of Sanchez and Market in the Castro. Review #2439

Perhaps this is one of those 'know what to order' places. i've found there decadent delights to hit the mark and like their breakfast menu, which seems to offer the usual as well as a 'post workout plate' for those wanting to enjoy without overindulgence. As for the coffee- get it at Peets down the block. Review #2425

I try and get so excited everytime I walk into this place. However, the desserts always taste a little old and bland. They have a great variety, but I have yet to eat the one I have to come back for. It's a great place to stop in, get a sugar rush, and leave. Review #2404

The desserts here are impressive but I find them a bit too over-the-top (and pricey). The coffee is mediocre at best and unless you get one of the tables in the front window, the seating can be crowded and awkward. Lots of internet dates going on in here which can be fun to observe :) Review #2100
