“ We were fortunate enough to have a friend take us here for a lovely dinner. It was delicious, albeit expensive and not very filling. The ribs were excellent, and that would have been a great meal by itself. But we chose to order it as an appetizer, something I won't make the mistake of doing again! The atmosphere is dark, cool, and even romantic. Check out their upstairs if you have a date. Very chic!

“
Came in for dessert and wine. The tables and bar were full so we sat in the lounge area near the door. Romantic setting, good desserts. The creme puffs were difficult to eat though. I had to juggle creating a bite that held the cream puff, the ice cream inside, AND the chocolate sauce poured over it. A minor dismay -- I ordered the cream puff because of the banana ice-cream but it was replaced with vanilla ice-cream without informing us. Can't say anything about the service because the hostess handled us and I know it's not her role to serve. I'll come back to try the food when the next time I feel like a nice late-night dinner. ”

“ Very tasty...the scallops wrapped in potatoes were to die for. The wait on a Thursday nite for a table for two was about 45 mins, so we opted for the bar. Half way through my meal I realized that I was now sharing my seat with another unknown cocktail drinker.
The food was rich and interesting, yet took quite a chunk out of my wallet.

“ This was a nice surprise on a late nite after some drinks at a party. Stumbled in (some of us literally) and had some nice food to hedge the hangover. Great oysters and a nice burger. There was also a nice foie gras dish. Beware the ceasar salad. It's anchovy city. I know it's gotta have some, but if you are sensitive to the little fishes, this one is not for you. They were very nice to my friend who did not find it to her liking and took it off the bill. Good service. Overall a nice late nite spot when Sparky's won't quite do. ”

“ I've dined here twice now and both times I enjoyed my dining experience. It does seem like just another modern, dark, loud restaurant, and in some ways it is. The bar is very nice, the ambience is sleek. Our servers both times were down-to-earth and friendly. They knew about the dishes and when asked specific questions they didn't know, they quickly found the answers from the kitchen. Last time I went, the soup special was Creamy Corn, which was very nice. The portion was a little small, but the flavours were well balanced. The main dishes are the least creative although most ingredients seem to organic. The desserts are very nice. Both times I shared dessert and that seemed to be perfect. They can be rich, so maybe a bit too much for one person alone. ”

“ You know the scenario, it's 11:10 pm...you haven't had dinner, what the hell are you going to do? This is a scenario I battle with quite often...and I have a standby list of good late night spots, we need more in our amazing city. We went to Oola on a recommendation since their kitchen is open til 1:00 am. OOla is another restaurant from Martel(think sushi groove), and he has the foundation of a hit. The bar staff were amazing and directed us well...you can also order the glasses by the half glass if you want to try many of their wines. The apps were solid overall: Seared scallops with fava beans were perfect, the lobster wontons disappointed since they overcooked and the coconut sauce was disappointing, the foie gras was nice, but not distinctive, but the bbq ribs were succulent and falling off the bone, if a little sweet. The grilled sirloin steak was fine, but the side fries we ordered with the parmesian and white truffle oil was great. A good late night hero. ”

“ Had dinner here thursday night...thier kitchen is open until 1AM--woo hooo---HUGE plus for me.
Atmospheere is cool...comfy. The wait/barstaff was wonderful---very friendly, helpful and efficient. Food was good. For apps we shared dayboat scallops---wonderful! perfectly cooked...tender on the inside slightly crispy on the outside. Lobster wontons--OK...nothing much...overcooked. Foie gras (which you all know I ADORE...the buttery flavour...like butter melting down your chin---ummm...ahh...hmmm ..anyway I digress...it was just OK.It didn't have all those lovely qualities...it fell short...but wasn't bad. Kumamoto oysters...very tasty....a lovely balance of mineral and fruit flavours. Short ribs..VERY!!! tender..but really lacking flavour :( (USE SALT!!!!) ---yeah we all know i love salt too much. Had the steak for a main along with some cheese and truffle oil fries. AGAIN...the steak was OK....tender but not much flavour and the fries were very tasty...nice and crispy. I am sure I wil ”

“ I was taken by surprise when I went to Oola! I didn't expect it to be so good, but it kept getting better. It's a small cozy plush atmosphere with such a cool bar! The bar stools did it for me because they are soft and padded, with a swivel base, so no stiff necks! I got the VIP table in the loft looking down at the restaurant. We even had our own draw curtains. The Short Ribs were the best I've had and the Seared Ahi was incredible! I loved the sliced Sirloin and Parmesan Fries. I'll be back! ”

“ oola was recommended, so we went on a monday night. Cool ambience for a bar scene, the restaurant was just ok. The seafood chowder was good, although potatoes undercooked, our friend loved the salmon entree. The spare ribs & mushroom tart appetizer were ok - nothing great. Our first bottle of wine (from great region in France) was corked, and our server couldn't tell the difference. 2nd bottle ok - but their storage conditions are questionable. Server came to the table too often. ”
