Allegro Romano is the best italian restaurant in San Francisco. Situated at the top of russian Hill near an amazing view, this charming, small, intimate restaurant will blow you away with their delicious pasta dishes such as fettuccine tartufo and gnocchi with gorgonzola. They are a casual restaurant but it is so romantic there it wouldn't hurt to dress up just a bit. You won't regret an experience at Allegro Romano, trust me. Review #19413

We recently visited San Francisco from Rhode Island and visited Allegro Romano. I must tell you that it was one of the best meals we have had. The service, the atmosphere and the food was all divine and we all but licked our plates clean !!! From the moment we came through the door to the long stem red rose presented to me upon departure we had nothing other than perfection. You can be sure that when we return to San Francisco, Allegro will be our first stop !!! If you truly want a wonderful dining experience you must go. Review #14361

For those of you who are looking for the BEST italian food in the City, quit. This is the place. From the moment you walk in and are greeted by Lorenzo you know you have found that one spot you always look for. The food is to die for, the service is so good that you feel like the staff is there just for you. For those of you who have not been as fortunate to fine Allegro Romano, what are you waiting for. As much as we would like to keep this as our very own secret, we must share this wonderful restaurant, it's owner and staff. The wine list is good, the Caesar salad wonderful. All the entrees make my mouth water just thinking about them as I write this review. We have never been to Italy, but I just know that this is as close as we can get to the wonderful hospitality you hear so much about. When entering, the big hug and kiss for the ladies, right up to when you leave with the ladies being presented with a long stem rose, you begin to plan just how soon you can come back. Review #12452

San Francisco's russian Hill has become the 8th Hill of Rome at Allegro Romano where Lorenzo Logoreci's stellar conviviality scintillates and his Cuicina Rustica Romana equally shines. Far different from typical North Beach italian, Lorenzo's cuisine is deliciously dark, rich and hearty, authentically and surprisingly Roman. Incomparable folksy dining experience, personable, exuberant, warm & hearty, rich & delicious, teaming with life and joie de vivre. From the second you enter, you will be showered with love, warmth and attention until your final departure. Your tastebuds will be satisfied as well. delicious standouts include the freshest mozzarella di bufala, fabulous caesar salad layered with crab meat, spectacular Roman Scaloppini con Porcini in a port-wine reduction sauce, succulent, rich and gamey Scottadito lamb chops, stunning ossobuco di vitello, veal shank over white truffle polenta. World's best tiramisu and carefully-selected wine list create a fun, satisfying evening. Review #11684

A real gem! Very good food and even better service. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The Veal and the Ravioli stood out as very good dishes, and the Cesar Salad with crab meat was YUMMMMMMY! We've only been to Allegro Romano once, but we're sure to return any time we want to treat ourselves or our friends to a good food and great service. Review #8310

Tiny italian restaurant with old world class and style - like being back in Florence. Excellent, personable service. The salad was dressed in an impeccable balsamic dressing, the bruschetta drenched in a delicious olive oil. My snapper (the daily special) was on a bed of mashed poatato and spinach, plated on a asparagus sauce. delicious! Wonderful Chianti by the glass and they brought us a complimentary galss of Fonsecca port for dessert, wow! Really nice place for a date. Review #2319
