Positive Cuisine: Bakeries Hot Cookies Castro
Cookies are pretty good here. If your expecting to buy a cookie that is hot, get real. Unless they are baking them, to order, for you, it's impossible. Though, you can get a warm cookie. A very tasty warm cookie. I love their macroons, and white chocolate with macadamia nuts. You can also purchase a lovely pair of red undies with your cookies...htats a plus. Review #21396

They used to have better cookies. The strawberry or blueberry frosting cookies are my favorite but they said they have stopped making them the last time i went there so it was a bit dissapointed. Review #12201

The brownies (especially the 7 layer "sexy brian bars" and the peanut butter one) are better than the cookies which never seem to be hot. But when a girl needs a cookie, this is the best option in the Castro. Review #9585

The cookies could be better. But then, it's just nice to have cookies around, so I won't complain too much. Review #9018

I honestly don't know why we are rating a cookie joint (or ice cream parlors for that matter) as they aren't technically restaurants. Nevertheless... I wasn't expecting my cookie to be hot out of the oven, so I wasn't disappointed in the oatmeal choc. chip w/nut cookie I devoured. The guys behind the counter are nice. Review #8592

Their cookies are so-so; you gotta catch them while they're hot, otherwise, they aren't all that. Service is pretty friendly. However, the reason I'm writing this is because of their Sexy Bryan Bars, which are amazing!!! I went through a period of needing to eat one every day. Chocolate chips, coconut, graham cracker crust: this bar will quell your sweet tooth craving for a little bit of everything! Review #7141

I just tried a couple "Hot Cookies" yesterday. I didnt hate them...they were warm...but if all you do is cookies...they better be FABULOUS! These were not...mediocre at best. They are living off the name and being in the castro. I did see a pair of Hot Cookie undies yesterday...I'd say Hot Cookie is a great gimmicky place....but not for cookies. Review #6288

Hot Cookie needs to review it's namesake since I've tried them twice and the cookies were never HOT. Too many other great bakery choices in SF. The cookies were never that great outside of being lukewarm. Review #5612

3 words - Sexy Bryan Bar. So decadent and worth it. For fun try the chocolate covered venus. Fun late night place, but the cookies are not always hot. Just tell them to put them in the microwave or wait for the fresh baked ones. Review #4662

There is nothing like a hot cookie, but these place is seriously robbing you. You could make a whole dozen of cookies for the price of 2 here. However, its at a convenient location... warm, sweet goodness :) Review #3788

Somehow I rarely walk by without buying a cookie, but everyone is right, they really aren't that great. Ms Feilds at the mall has them beat. Some advise: always ask what's still warm. (warm cookies are always that much better). And do not get suckered into buying the cookie penis. It's really not tasty and very expensive. Review #3240

I have to agree with the others on the ridiculous prices for mediocre cookies. Unfortuately there are no good bakeries in the Castro so this is the only option if you have a sugar craving. Review #3174

Gotta love the name of this place. While the cookies are good, they're way over-priced and they aren't as hot and fresh-out-of-the-oven as I'd expect for this kind of dough! Review #3143

The funny thing is... when you want a cookie, you want a cookie and, most likely, will buy it-- hence, HC can get away with expensive not-so-hot cookies. Upsides: i had a good brownie and they sell mini-cookies. Review #3133

$5.00 for 2 cookies?? I was a bit shocked by the outragious prices. The cookies were good, but I think I was just paying for the young boy to stand behind the counter and look cute. Review #2942

Hot Cookie- what a great name! It has drawn me in multiple times. But, I am usually a little disappointed. Give the name, I expect one of the most amazing cookies EVER. Yet, the ones I've eaten have been room temp and a little bland. Also, it is not possible to purchase by the dozen , like for a party or a meeting- they are only sold by weight, making them expensive. Review #2855
